Sure, but not all dogs are pets.

Sure, but not all dogs are pets.

Plenty of research has shown that people will drive at a speed that feels comfortable. Narrower lanes are known to cause people to slow down without additional discomfort or fining speeders.

While not getting into whether we should eat meat at all, if we are eating meat, I don’t see how eating dog meat is any more or less immoral than eating most other meats. Eating someone’s pet, whether it be a dog or a pot belly pig is a shit move, but I doubt the restaurant was told they were buying someone’s pet.

Thank you for helping me pop my Lemmy block user cherry. You made it easy to give in.

There’s a mall near where I live that has a fast charger and about 6 L2 chargers. The L2 chargers are also cheaper per kWh -you’re paying for convenience with the fast charger, not electricity. But if you’re going to the mall for an hour or three and your battery is low, why not get a charge that is still cheaper than gas (where I live, at least)? And if the charging app supports it, you can track when your charge is complete and move your car to save money and free the charger up for someone else. I don’t know ow why more malls near me don’t have many or any chargers.
There’s also a theater with an L2 charger a couple blocks away. It’s a good excuse to walk a bit and have more charge after the movie is over.
But charging at home really is a game changer, even with an L1 charger. Adding about 50 km or range in 10 hours for a pittance is hard to beat. And one of the best perks of where I work is they let me charge at work. It doesn’t take much more charge than a block heater and doesn’t cost them more than $100 per year, but having that extra range when I leave work every day is so nice.

A very visceral example of “I would rather be harmed myself than help certain other people.”

Or, to put it succinctly, that which gets measured gets done, and the people in charge of measuring don’t know what’s important.

This is also how mosquito magnets work. Release CO2 and an attractant, catch the fuckers in a bag, and they dessicate. Unfortunately, it doesn’t need lasers and can’t shoot your eye out. I’m sure it’s also more expensive, I mean profitable.

I wouldn’t call GOG shitty. I wish they’d better support Linux, and I’m sure some developers avoid them early release due to no DRM, tho.

Pretty sure that’s for NetHack, not Hack.

You accurately describe the difference between need and want at the beginning of your comment, then ignore it at the end.

The video adds something extra to it. Cleavon Little’s restrained grin is perfect.

You could legitimately make this argument about any topic you like. Fortunately, it’s easy to block at either the account or instance level, so you can see the things you want to see and I can see the things I want to see, whether those things be politics, Trump, porn, trans news, left wing politics, genocide, genocide denial, memes, tan eggs, cats, or, god help us, beans, jeans, orbs, and corn.
How’s that for freedom?

What gets measured gets done. For good or ill.
Wild dogs don’t, and some people don’t have any interest in an empath9c connection with dogs. After that, most animals are deeply interested in their own survival.
