Sounds more like a bad watch or setting it up badly. Why would it delete anything anyways before backing it up on secondary media or in general?
Workouts are usually .gpx files which are kB in size. You cannot tell me there is no space on the watch for that. Mine stores all workouts I have ever done.

Most open source maintainers never “license [any] stuff you maintain for big bucks” that is often hard to do and/or goes against the philosophy of open source entirely.
And I don’t even think this is malicious behaviour as it just nukes the code of this package and nothing else if you are not being careful yourself…
If you don’t do version control you are not a good programmer, imo

Actually, having played both… Yes

Believe me GO is worse
I think in the U.S.A. it is usually the latter nowadays, where a cook also preps dishes for you? With a grill plate in the middle made out of sheet metal.
The former is traditionally japanese

Oh sorry, I might have misunderstood your question. Yes, Codeberg is centralised, but it is registered at a public e.V. in Germany making it more open (not a company).
But then you could use what they use, Forgejo to self host.
Or Gittea as suggested by somebody else.

Codeberg, I can recommend

The introductory plot of the Last of US TV Show
There are public archives. See Zenodo. Not sure what the author is complaining about.

Well Passkeys are a good step to enhance security and remove potential backdoors from companies for one. As you have your private key that cannot be easily imitated and is checked by the company that you use.
And generally speaking, your phone can be attacked via software without even having physical access. So if your phone is infected they gain access (at some point during usage) to both your password manager and your 2FA. It is just never a good idea to have multiple thongs in one place.
On a side note, with physical access to one of your devices for a longer time, most things can be accessed by a malicious actor.

You can force auth on hardware passkeys for every activation. A sort of local password. Much more secure, also if somebody is in possession of your passkey and you didn’t just loose it somewhere you would be fucked anyways.
I have three, one for home, one for backup, and one for travel. I can See why ppl. Are annoyed by that, but speaking of costs, you can get these starting from ~20 Dollars. Additionally, passkeys could and should replace passwords and not EB generally used as 2FA.
Also many password managers (incl. FOSS) do support Passkeys, but having them in your password manager makes them arguably useless. Same if you use 2FA on your phone and a password manager and your phone gets compromised somehow.

Not if it comes to hardware-based passkeys I would argue

I mean, still what is significant? It seems you see the Napoleonic wars as such. Considering involvement of countries, the Crimean war had 4 great and 2 minor powers involved and lasted for 3 years. Granted the Crimean war was shorter and had less than the 6 great powers involved as were during the different coalition wars, with 1/4 the of the dead, but politically it was very significant and certainly not small nor regional in its effects.

That is factually incorrect, there have been many wars between the 1815 and 1914 that would qualify.
See the Crimean war 1853 or the German-French war 1870. With two or more great powers involved.
Or what is your definition?
Wouldn’t it be fairer to just drop capitalism and have a society not based on wealth?
I can see a few cases immediately where your system would remain unfair or unviable.
