I have used that feature in Steam, and I thought it was neat. Also I did not think you could possibly mean that when you said multiplayer. Because as others have pointed out already that is not turning it into what one would generally describe as multiplayer. It turns it into remote coop, or chaos, or, if the game already has local multiplayer, it can turn it into remote multiplayer.

Nice for some games, but not generally applicable, and not what most people unfamiliar with it would expect after reading your statement.

lol, wtf are you talking about? I have no idea how that would even work. I am a game dev. I can add the API calls to connect to the servers, sure. That doesn’t make the game function correctly as a multiplayer game.
So either you have no idea what you are claiming here, or you’re misrepresenting things on purpose.

They have done good things for Linux. Doesn’t mean their anti competitive practices aren’t anti competitive.

That is the malicious compliance implementation that big tech went for in order to nag us into accepting all cookies, not at all what the EU law had in mind. ”Reject All” is supposed to be as easy to choose as ”Accept All”, or you know, you could just read my browser’s ”do not track” setting, that’s what it’s ducking for.

Very interesting, thank you for the work and sharing it. When I have some time I’ll have a look if I can use this with my rootless podman setup.

My experience: I started hosting some other services on a hetzner VPS, and then also threw in Nextcloud later. Nextcloud was a bit annoying to set up, but mostly because I really wanted to use rootless podman. I imagine a more official way would be easier. It works like a charm now. I have only two users, so mileage may vary.

Most of my data is outside of Nextcloud and it’s photos and videos, so I ran out of internal storage on the VPS quickly. I’m using a Hetzner storage box now (though they did just increase the price of those…).

I use the hetzner backup as local. The offsite one is a scaleway s3 via restic, I wanted it to be completely unrelated, just in case Hetzner decide to terminate my account or something.

Sounds like a peaceful life to me.

Same. At some point I barely saw any differences anymore. I was so surprised to see the font I thought I liked actually being the winner.

I suspect there’s more people who speak Python fluently than Esperanto. So that comparison sits very wrong with me. The rest was funny :)
