Not much to say
To me it was something about the setting, I was like 13 at the time and compared to Quake that was an excellent multiplayer game, the vibe and story really attracted me at the time.
The main difference to halo is that the master chief feels like an unstoppable war machine but marathon made me feel scared, running around in vents and panicking at the sight of a bug.

For all the data they have on us they sure are pretty ass at utilizing it.
I think at that point it has nothing to do with the dead animal. It has been transformed from a living being to a resource we can chose to be wasteful or not with. But there are some serious spiritual hoops to jump through if we want to see it as a honorary action towards our victim.
It’s the phrasing of honouring or respecting the deceased that is the problem. If someone decided to kill and eat me and some weird afterlife shenanigan would allow me to be aware of it, I sure as hell wouldn’t find it honouring that they made a cowboy hat of my skin and guitar frets of my bones. Though it would be very metal.
Slaying an animal to utilise every piece of it’s corpse would be a more correct and honest take.
I loved starbound early access but when they released it fully with a sloppy story slapped onto it, giving you a mech the first thing that happens and tons of dialog that can’t be skipped I noped out.

What’s so great about him is that he doesn’t have any interest to rule or destroy, but he loves to set the stage for interesting happenings and watch them unravel. But he loves flan more.

I would kill to be on the DV tour. I did see them on the California tour which was incredible, and also saw the Easter Bunny two years ago which was cool in a different way.
Nicest: Slay the spire. I still miss interacting with the slay the spire sub, they’re very wholesome and managed the influx of new players well.
Weirdest: Rimworld. Everything is always about making a perfect cannibalism machine to maximize human leather hats and warcrimes. In a wholesome way.
Meanest: LoL. While it has become much better I can imagine there’s still pointless hostility happening there.
Devos rendition of (I can’t get no) Satisfaction really turns a mediocre song into something special.
I’m pretty sure it was pretty big by Cohen and Cales version (the one Jeff would use) and I don’t think it was before Jeff’s death his version really exploded and then subsequently through Shrek did it become everyone’s song.
But Jeff really revitalised the song with hiss masterful voice. Leonard was a master in many areas but his voice wasn’t his big strength.
Fun trivia: In the movie it’s Cales version but on the official soundtrack it’s Rufus Wainwright performing it, who happens to have a child with Cohen’s daughter.
Mercy seat and In my life are masterpieces in the original but his renditions are immaculate. It’s something about his low emotion, speaking from a position of looking back at the events rather than being emotional and in them like the originals.
To be fair, I’d probably prefer the 4gb model.
While I agree, there are plenty of chill subreddits that are full of interaction and the counterparts here aren’t very active. I know that it’s up to us to start creating the posts but I’m more of a lurker and replier.
And compared to Doom, Marathon had more to offer from what I recall. Att least I remember it more fondly but I might mix it up with the sequels.
