I TOLD YOU NOT TO TALK ABOUT GOBLINS

I TOLD YOU NOT TO TALK ABOUT GOBLINS

I vaguely remember reading an article about Microsoft fully supporting the creation of ODF but only to influence its direction towards being a convuluted and limited document format so they could both argue they weren’t a monopoly and ensure their monopoly

Also hilarious that they’re complaining about the jaywalking laws in China when they’re only just catching up to the level of stupidity that the US has had for ages.
Like shit, American companies coined the term jaywalking ffs

Is your ballot tied to you though? I guess that’s the confusing part to me because when we go to vote, we just show our voting card (or ID, or mail with address and name, or have someone vouching for you) and get given a generic slip of paper we put an X on and fold up before putting into a box. Nobody looks at it until the box is emptied and counted when polls close. Even with voter registration data I can’t see how it’s possible to trace a vote back to you without there being a really conveniently placed security camera

Do American voters have their name tied to their vote? It’s completely anonymous in Canada
It’s definitely easier to find a random spot to stick a can than it is a full sandwich lol. I can shove a beer (or hard seltzer these days) in with my shampoos if I need to but a whole sandwich ain’t fitting in there

In Canada I believe you just get given cash but nearly all of our gun violence is done with illegally smuggled guns from the USA (maybe we need a border wall? 🙂) so it doesn’t have a huge effect on it. We generally have sane laws regarding firearms so gun violence is relatively low already though.

I think I’d be okay with that. I’ve setup my keyboard so that FN+wasd act as arrow keys and I will occasionally use them that way in my editor even if I primarily use vim style movement

No Flash, No Java, No Websockets, No Bullsh*t
Wait, what’s wrong with websockets?

The US is such a backwards place

He has “concepts of a casus belli”

I enjoyed it so it was a good use of my screen space which zeroes out your criticism :)

Could be a Canadian too haha. We unfortunately inherit some Americanisms here

And his wife still thinks he was stupid for that
Murrell joked that he preferred the employees receiving the bonus over his wife getting “a new fur coat”.
“She still looks at me like I’m stupid, but I thought it was worth it,” Murrell was quoted as saying by Fortune. “They worked so hard. They were so overwhelmed.”

Thanking service members has always been fucking weird from a non-American point of view
When i was around 14 or 15, I helped do the web dev stuff for an online friend of mine who started a Minecraft server hosting company (he was a few years older than me)
It actually got pretty popular and while I just got paid in free server hosting, I was having a great time.
He just disappeared one night though which we noticed when the card he used for the bulk server reseller host failed. All the servers we were hosting for people along with the website got shut down and he was nowhere to be found online. I was talking to him pretty much all day every day so it was really weird
Its been nearly 15 years but I still wonder wtf happened to him
Yeah, but then again my Mum (boomer) and grandparents (silent gen) are left leaning, Palestine supporting/donating Canadians. Then there are people I know my age on the cusp of Millennial and Zoomer who support Israel and while not conservative are extremely politically ignorant
Generational generalisation is akin to astrology

Maybe but you give them an inch and in a few years the ads will be targeted
A movie of such quality and esteem such as Troll 2 does not need to explain itself
