Climate change is turning into a scapegoat for everything. We’ve been talking about it for my whole life now, so how are people still using it as an excuse?

How badly do you want that to be true versus how much the evidence actually suggests it to be true

This is true of any news source that consistently hits certain narratives. Regular viewers will inevitably begin thinking those narratives are a bigger issue than they thought previously. How many foreigners are afraid to visit the United states because they fear getting shot or abducted by ICE, despite extremely low risk of either happening? It’s because of where they get their news. The only way to mitigate this is to get news from diverse sources and to talk with lots of different people.
California. It goes with high cost of living.

Well you say MAGA, but then lump in all Republicans and conservatives as well. Prosecutions should be based on actions, not on labels that can be misunderstood or misapplied. If you make it illegal to be MAGA, then it turns into a game of defining people you don’t like as MAGA. It always happens that way.

I mean, that’s just a good old fashioned purge of the opposition.

How do you identify MAGA, and what exactly do you do to “crush” them? Without being very specific, it’s the type of thing that would very quickly turn into a witch hunt and blatant persecution of political opposition. As far as I can tell, it’s not much different from antifa in that it’s not really a group, but a movement.
She definitely tried (successfully) to use her aura.

That’s just people in general.

This is standard procedure for politicians and their friends. Acting like it’s just Trump allows the issue to resume after he is gone.

That depends on what role religion plays in a society. In a non religious society, those people are drawn to other positions of authority where they can perpetrate. For instance teachers and social workers are among the worst when it comes to occupations where these people end up.

Hospitals want to drain your estate of every dime while insurance companies want you to die as soon and as cheaply as possible. It’s a beautiful balance.

I appreciate the comprehensive take. So tired of people claiming to know which sources are biased and which aren’t, acting as though they are somehow immune to it while everyone who disagrees with them is subject to it. And you are right, there is no great solution except that news needs to be as decentralized as possible, from many independent sources.

That’s not what I said

I’ve only seen better benefits, pay, and protections over the last 20 years. Not sure what to say.

Worker benefits are better than they were 10 years ago, and way better than 20 years ago. Wages have gone up, and keeping pace with inflation with varying degrees of success over the years. People work less than they used to is what I’m saying. I work less than my parents did and I think it’s a good thing. But the economy will slow down because of it.

You can’t compete with a nation that doesn’t feel bad about exploitation of workers. If the workers cooperate then you can get a crazy amount of productivity out of them. The united states is losing its power because we aren’t willing to work as we used to. It’s a tradeoff, but I’m fine with it except that I’m not sure I trust China/Xi Jinping as the world’s superpower. He eliminated term limits when he took power, and I’m sure has no intention of going anywhere for a long time. Everyone so busy celebrating Trump looking bad, but forgetting that it could be and will be a lot worse for the western world under a Chinese dictator.

Yes, please screw the entire world economy and use it to fund global jihad. As long as it embarrasses Donald Trump then it’s worth it.

Probably Christianity
Maybe they should do more research into what to do about it, since they know that it’s going to be a bigger issue.
