I mean, that was a solid cpu, but damn.

This was supposed to be my upgrade cycle. I built our PC’s in 2021, and i tend to upgrade every 5 years. Between the pricing and industry collapse, and just plain having more fun with low spec games, i don’t know how long it’s going until i upgrade again.
Imagine how jank that game would have been on release if they tried varied procedurally generated biomes hahaha.

I mean, Rothfuss has produced a couple novellas, and Martin has some projects. I get it, but at the same time i wouldn’t blame either of them if they didn’t feel comfortable releasing another of their mainline series.
I want them to, and ten years is a long ass time, but nothing they produce will live up to the hype so that probably causes a lot of anxiety.
But maybe im projecting here. Idk. I feel like the same thing is the reason we don’t have a Half-Life 3 video game. The first two made such a huge impact in terms of tech and gameplay that nothing is going to live up to the hype. So you can either kill yourself trying to achieve unachievable levels of amazing, or go do something you want to do.

I think Rothfuss/Martin and others are pressured too much. No matter what they produce, it will never be good enough to satisfy the hordes of loudmouths.

There are several ‘edits’ you can put together online that are actually way better than the movies. They cut out a lot of the nonsense and trim around excess to provide a 2-ish hour movie that feels choppy but good.
Unrelated but,
Theres a section of Prince George Canada that all of a sudden does a big U. The story i was told is that back in the day there were two competing railway companies, and one of them bought enough influence that when the city was making roads to the other company, they instead made the roads bend back.
I still have my Kickstarter book, complete with gross dead wasp.
I found a Ghost Magpie. These fellas are usually a pretty black and green colour, but sometimes they have a genetic abnormality that makes 'em brown!

Win 11 feels like i replaced by SSD with an HDD. I’m half convinced that they’re making it as awful as possible so when the whole OS as a service thing arrives, it’ll feel super snappy.
I actually had this whole period where i would be doing something and I’d think to myself “Surely i misunderstand NFTs” then I’d stop what i was doing and check.

I don’t support the use of AI tools in general, but i have a soft spot for long-term maintainers. These people generally don’t have enough support for this to be a full-time hobby, and when a project becomes popular the pressure is massive.
If the community wont step up to take the burden off the maintainer, but they still want active development, what can you do? As long as the program continues to be high quality, i cant complain about a free thing.

Do I want another option in the desktop CPU space? YES
Do I want that option to be Nvidia? NOPE
I limit myself to one or two “new full price” purchases a year, and it’s usually games from known devs i want to support that I’m excited about.

Honestly, the only way you’ll know is to try. I don’t normally go for a lot of new anime, but I really enjoyed some of Dungeon Meshi.

Hey look how about some sympathy for the gun owner here? He accidentally pointed a loaded weapon at a loved one while having a heated argument, and the gun felt scared and accidentally went off! By accident!
Really, that poor gun owner might be scared to point a loaded weapon at a loved one again! Don’t victim blame the poor owner!

Local farmers market in 'Berta.

Just picked up 2 dozen local eggs for $9.99CAD.

This semester i took a basic database course, and the prof mentioned that LLMs are useful for basic queries. A few weeks later, we had a no-computer closed book paper quiz, and he was like “You can’t use GPT for everything guys!”.
Turns out a huge chunk of the class was relying on gpt for everything.
But why? Arguably, the only thing missing from bg1/2 enhanced editions are controller support, other then that they’re perfectly playable.
I mean, if you can handle 2e, which many people can’t.
