“Backups?”
“Backups?”
I tried Proxmox but found it way overkill for home use. I run ~50 Docker containers and I love Docker for its ease of use. Proxmox is an order of magnitude more complicated.

1970s oil crisis turned off my lights

Gravy. You’re thinking of gravy.

This, in combination with ‘copyparty’ as a Docker container with a volume mapping to my files. Edit locally, and edit from anywhere.

Lucky you to have a place to put those panels. And a parking spot within reach.
Many people don’t.

It will be a looong time before I set foot in that country again, if ever. I’m very sad that I can’t visit my nice friends but nobody should have to risk going to a concentration camp.

Boss said, last year’s performance met expectations, so we are all not getting any bonus.
What?? Hold on. It’s a performance-based bonus. This directly translates to a bonus-based performance, effective immediately.
Fuck the company, I don’t work for peanuts.

I like this approach, but how can it be enforced? Would you have to read every line and listen to a gut feeling?

Respectfully disagree with you.
I’ve been taking music lessons for years, to find that I don’t have the ear nor the rhythm for it.
Ten years of dance classes, I love the feeling of floating over the floor with an English Waltz. But ask me to stop counting in my head, or improvise rather than trained patterns, and I fall apart, just rocking in place.
Painting too. Aquarels, not acrylic. I don’t have the imagination nor, again, the fine motor skills.
The Arts are not for me.
I am a man of electronics, mechanics, computing, soldering, Lego, woodworking, sailing, geometry, 3d modeling. And I can teach and plan and organise.
It’s all practical, tangible stuff. That is who I am.

Buuut the thinking is that open source algorithms are not intentionally made to be so fucking EVIL.

Only their leader(s) need urgent and acute lead poisoning.
I use a variety of laptops with their built-in keyboards, and sometimes with a variety of plain usb keyboards.
It’s easy to run an AHK script on each machine, just for me. It’s not feasible to carry a special keyboard around.
Among my primary uses is completely remapping the keyboard layout, from scan codes to international Colemak (like Dvorak but different).
That means my script captures every alpha keystroke and sends something else instead.
AHK is marvelous to run on otherwise locked-down corporate computers.
While I’m at it, my AHK also tracks typing stats, just for fun.
I wonder how hard it might be to build something like AHK for Linux.
I’m a big fan of AHK myself, and my small scripts would be a real gap when I finally manage to kick Windows out.

What about 2FA, and banking apps, and banks’ payment apps? At least in Yurop they require a “safe” / “uncompromised” OS. Oh the irony! But that is why I am still unrooted.
I love this! Oh they days of tinkering with Windows 95 beta releases…

Likely, but you did not let poor code pass. That is valuable.

They can do anything they want. That is just something they don’t want to do. Again, 🤮
I was probably exaggerating when I said 50.
I just counted the icons on my dash. 42.
