Now i‘m not sure about cats, but for dogs i’ve seen them cost a lot, even in the first year, and even if you don’t consider adoption. between taxes, health insurance, and equipment you gotta get, you can spend a lot of money very quickly. ofc you can also go with the cheapest options, but then sth stupid happens and your dog has a 4k trip to the vet in year two, and insurance won’t cover shit.
tldr: I’ve seen dogs get very expensive very quickly.
I love how you keep making this joke mr. cunningham.
yeah, fair, i was just trying to say that the other comments point at this being ai generated.
that is because, telling from the other comments, this is most likely ai generated…

they wanna own their infra i guess. not being dependent is a good thing for a gov, and in choosing forgejo they’re basically choosing codeberg after all.

interesting, when reading this article a while back, it sounded like av1 was pretty good at preserving grain, the best even.
am wondering whether it comes down to the settings used.
i really don’t get it either. i feel like op tends to write well researched and thought out blogs, which are nice to read too.
@op: you do good stuff!
they even have a blog post telling you to never click domains that look like the domain of the blog :D

no, he’s right in some way. claude desktop is spyware, but it only spies through chromium based browsers, so if you don’t use chrome, you’re safe … for now. until they install their backdoor in safari/ firefox based browsers too

while it can, there probably is some arch user who runs the program too and notices it suddenly takes 2ms longer to do something thusly finding the xz attack.
so, yeah foss isn’t inherently safe, but most probably saf er

and who needs teachers anyways?
i’m running xattr -c all day every day to get my foss goodness running

also i think i’ve heard something about apple paying for google ai stuff, but im not entirely sure.
i was not advocating for this UP phone in any way and am sorry if it seemed that way. my next phone will indeed be running on GrapheneOS.
I was just trying to point out that using third party vpn infrastructure can make sense, even though i wouldn’t trust the vpn of UP in any way. trust is a difficult thing, but as of right now i’m liking mullvad.
tbf, i do have some trust in mullvad. and if i own the server, people might know its me because its my server. (as in, the only one using it and possibly some tethers to my name through accounts and payments)
I‘ve heard that graphene ships with the vanadium browser per default. how does that compare to Ironfox? i‘m somewhat surprised that graphene doesn’t go with what so many ppl recommend?
