Hopefully before I die I can say there are people living on it permanently. And someone was finally on Mars.

I also use Homeassistant. It’s a very rapidly moving target, development-wise, it’s understandable that a website listing a procedure to do something from a year ago may not be correct today.

At least they are only one-way. They won’t be getting any private info or tracking data out of you.

I am willing to bet there is still a radio in your vehicle, and very likely a local news station with traffic and weather reports.

Right? GeForce RTX 50 series? I JUST upgraded to a Voodoo 3. How about some Quake 3 Arena, fellow old?

The people it affected are very much still alive and most of them will be for a long while longer. 30 years isn’t THAT long ago.

Yep, that’s me, just Linux isos, I just like to collect 'em, y’know, and store them on a small 100TB NAS I can access from any Plex client computer in the house should I need them. You never know.

You just reminded me I’m in my 40s.
And it still feels weird AF. I’m not supposed to be this old.

They can’t get all computing devices. If desktop PCs are done for, I’ll go to Raspberry Pis. There’s plenty of embedded and industrial computer systems that can be repurposed to use as a general purpose computer.
The cyberpunk dystopia has arrived, prepare your tools and defenses accordingly.
I’m a tinkerer. It’s made for people like me that like to take stuff apart and put it back together to see how it works. It also, quite literally, does EXACTLY as I tell it and set it up to operate. It doesn’t do disrespectful shit like revert my default browser settings to Edge. It is MY operating system and MY computer to 100% control however I wish, not some stale-ass predatory slop-driven corporation’s.

Why do children not get any right to privacy at all, like they’re just pets or something? There are some who would be put in danger if the parents found out, and they’re smart enough to know this, otherwise they’d trust their own parents enough to just tell them instead of a third party.
If the kid is opening up to a third party for this kind of issue instead of their own parent, somewhere along the line, that parent has failed at being a parent and has broken the trust between them and their child. That’s how I see it. This is 100% the safer option for many, many kids. Please do not take away the one safe space they have and just throw them back to their fucked up parents.
