WTF America? What would your Superman do in this situation?

I very much agree. A more just solution would see settlements from cases such as this should come from the police unions funds, or as you suggested - not from taxpayers.

This article is shit. It’s just long form advertising. Don’t trust any of it.

Wow. Just wow.

Before a compliment is given, it has to hit a very narrow sweet spot between common usage and too obscure. Common equals no compliments.
Too obscure and you don’t know it’s meaning or if it adds anything of value. You spend the time you’d be giving a compliment asking what it means and the conversation train has broken down.
The most compliment deserving are word or short phrases that distill complicated ideas into something simpler - more elegant.
But let’s face it, for many of us, written and verbal communication is hard.

In my experience, the American medical community has had the highest respect for cuban physicians for decades. I would guess the same for classic car enthusiasts, and friendly rednecks who make boats out of non-boat materials from the junkyard.

But of course! One I know well. He’s a very friendly and likable person, and never judges anyone. He has a large social circle, a steady job doing manual tasks. He has a delightful longtime girlfriend. But he can’t grasp abstract concepts, or any but the simplest logical concepts. He hides any lack of understanding with a quick joke, but is highly susceptible to propaganda.

It’s heartbreaking that they only ditch maga when it negatively affects them, but yet wildly cheer maga when it negatively affects their fellow Americans.

Tidal was fine for me, but then I kept coming across uploaded ai crap masquerading as legit established bands. So now on qobuz, but I miss the tailored to me recommendations. I’m considering just moving to a completely non-streaming solution - but I’m not tech savvy enough to know how to start.

Which one had a greater impact outside it’s borders?

A waiter at McDonald’s? That’s a real job right? That doesn’t sound made up at all. But I’m sure the rest of the story is COMPLETELY factual right?

I’m going to be very little help here, I’ve spent a short amount of time working on tangential research, but I don’t think your are going to get answers that will be satisfying, because the molecular/emotional aspects of addiction are INSANELY complicated. Hoping someone can step in with an elegant digestible set of answers for us.
