As far as actual news goes, this SDCC was pretty thin, to say the least.

No one can say the franchise is dead!

It got a second season, which has yet to air, and then got cancelled. So we’re going to get to see their second year at the Academy, eventually.

Our new vulcan is a flanderisation of vulcans, and not in a good way.

I don’t think anything will ever top DS9 for me, but I’d put several of the newer shows above Voyager.

I would have loved some Voth references

My only “complaint,” because the Voth are one of my favourite dumb Trek things. But it’s not really a complaint, and you can easily assume the Voth are simply gone by this point in history.

Frain played Sarek on Discovery - he was played by the late Ben Cross (who was also very good) in the Kelvin films.

That’s generally been my opinion, too - two great tastes that likely wouldn’t taste great together.

But for the sake of arguing with myself, they were able to make the SNW/LD crossover work, and that arguably has just as much tonal whiplash, if not more, despite the shared setting.

That ship has decidely sailed, with both franchises on the space rocks at the moment.

I strongly disagree with the first three points (not yours, I know) - especially in the TOS era - but I do agree it doesn’t quite feel the way I want it to.

That Sybock thing demands follow-up, for sure.

They just have to make sure none of the eventual TOS cast meet him…
