My first summons was when I was 18 …I ditched it… paid the fine. Back the it was 80 bucks. The next time some 30 years later I went. It was in San Diego superior and there were hundreds of other people in a huge hall and they were calling names. I tried my best to be invisible but my name came up. Next thing I know is everyone in the nury thinks I’d make a good foreman… Despite my objections that’s what they wanted. Ended up being a slip and fall case for a lady in a restaurant. I fought like hell to get her more compensation and w eventually reached a compromise. I got her a better settlement and wow what a cool experience.

I live in central TN. I’m a Miata guy and the cost is hurting my wallet but almost every other vehicle is a monster lifted truck with oversized tires etc. I have no idea how those guys with truck payments can afford gas.

Because of the inflation, the wife and I planned that we would do in state road trips for spring through fall because we really couldn’t afford anything more fancy but with a Miata I thought that would be a fun compromise. Gas prices shut that all down. I thought how can I go even cheaper than that ? Ok this year is patio cookout and staycation. Sure, look at the price of food! That brings us back to inflation. This year is the year of laying low and eating poor. Puzzles are still cheap… Sigh.

This is the most word Spaghetti I’ve seen in ages. You should get back to those meds.

Funny, I’m a Gen X - and I have everything locally stored and with over 400 gb of music commercial free. -I could just put the whole thing on shuffle for the next few years. Still sometimes listen to ad supported Spotify tho as am used to radio.
I remember it too, the dreaded thin clients are coming to kill your desktop. Honestly I’d love it if there was a viable option. You just can’t do it though - look at Stadia. Until graphics can be processed without a local card you’re only catering to net nanny’s and the slightly Amish. Ahhhh Web TV.

I dunno - I’m headed to Snopes to find out

Temu will save us all with 3rd party Chinese parts that are cheaper and only slightly buggier and no docs. I’m ready for the fight.

I liken it to the dragon sickness Thorin had, an all consuming greed because you can think of nothing else. Stunted mind syndrome?

Big tech is making wayyyy to much money selling artificially inflated parts and pieces, Some people may buy into a second generation Web TV but gamers and builders won’t. ( I know - I was there 3000 years ago when net nanny’s were buying Web TV and I was selling Packard Bells with 4MB RAM).

My mini pc or laptop connected via HDMI to a projector setup makes me more happy every day when I see crap like this. Bonus is you can move it to the patio for outside movie night and it’s a whopping five pounds. Same goes for moving apartments because I’ve always moved too often.

Build your own open WRT router or get one of theirs. It’s the best way to go and you don’t get dragged through the monthly fee wringer for stupid child security or other stuff that is not well designed.

Yeah me too. With all this creative tomfoolery though I can’t imagine it’s helpful to to guys in the trenches coding the thing.

Amen brother. I’m not buying it either if that’s the case. Didn’t say I wouldn’t play it.

When do no evil finally turns to do evil always. I think this leaves the Woz as the only remnant of when tech was the good guy.

I drive a 2013 Miata with 6 speed manual rear wheel drive configuration and it has no tracker and no screen.

They are unbelievably awesome.
Sure… Heck you could even put some older steam games on it but… Older. As a smart TV or even a firewall or router it would be fine.
