Just the servers this month 31,7TiB and 3,4TiB. Yearly 563,6TiB and 54,2TiB. This does not count computers or other devices.
For a fair comparisson, take the smaller server, that one is acting as a more normal service, hosting Nextcloud and Immich among other daily life things.
If only there were better, open-source, self-hostable alternatives… Wait, there are!

Went from TrueNAS to OpenMediaVault and we are quite happy atm. Very reliable, decent documentation, easy to use. We were between this and Proxmox when we switched but ultimately chose OMV for its ease. It’s been at least a year and with ~100 containers running and some friends asking for VMs it would have been useful to be in proxmox, but not a biggie. However, be sure of your usecase and try imagining future needs just to be prepared and avoid more migrations ;)

The copyfarleft licenses are not incompatible with the spirit of FOSS, they work exactly the same for the people, the only difference is that companies can either fuck off or pay
The fact that the FOSS model is still considered the best thing ever is so sad to me. The “free” part is clearly not working. Or rather it is working as is now intended: free labour for the private sector to exploit.

They actually do, and unless you talk in code this is more akin to a second or third language, not the one you grew up with. I have personally noticed how after a year or so of using the rng machine I simply could not code without AI, and am now lucky to be rehabilitating myself. There are already serious studies about the deskilling effect, this IS how it works. “AI” (meaning the LLMs now thrown at every thinking problem) is a lazy enshittifying tool.
