This is going to be expensive… so I need to know what to expect and whether it is worth it
I would expect any integration of a cloud based system to be closed, because it happens often.

No, that was not hypothetical. That actually happened.

It was a hypothetical.
Basically anytime it’s not printed
I was very excited when I started seeing QR codes gaining popularity. That excitement was quickly shattered when everyone just started using them improperly and they just made everything more annoying 😮💨
I mean I think everyone should. But it requires a lot more mental energy to use. Anything commercial or niche will likely be unsupported or require significant research and effort to get working.
On the other hand, no one is spying on you, blatantly stealing your information, and relentlessly shoving office, cloud and AI products down your throat, and installing security holes in the process.
Gaming is fine and very easy if you use Steam. Using anything else will again require more research and energy.

Not sure if you don’t realize this but those are the same company.

The surprise is that they’re not continuing to throw VC money at it to bolster user numbers and mislead investors.

Add it to the list of reasons not to buy perpetual licenses. As long as companies like MS, TeamViewer, Arlo, etc. are allowed to continue getting away with this, they will.

Ah yes, the 34-time convicted felon will surely restore law and order…

When I was younger, I thought they must know what they’re doing.
Same. The older I get, the more I realize like 80% of “professionals” don’t know what they’re doing.

Theyre all really good now, and all priced very similarly. All have strengths and weaknesses but you can’t really go wrong with any of them.
Unfortunately they all require a proprietary app and associated account so I’ll never buy another one.
GoPro rested on their laurels and DJI and Insta360 are eating their lunch now.

Get an outdoor hobby. I like riding bikes in the woods.

Strange enough, with current crazy RAM prices, Apple’s RAM is now reasonably priced. You’re still getting absolutely fucked on storage though. Anyone who owns an Apple product should probably also own a NAS.

All of those I listed have social features

I wonder how this will impact Aurora store…?

Yep you can make a zip gun with a couple pieces of pipe and a nail.

Yes, that’s the “collusion”. Pretty much every platform has similar rules. I don’t think collusion is the right word, as that implies some sort of agreement between them, when in reality they each just have the same agreement. But I do think it’s a valid complaint and the implications of such a suit are wide-reaching for that reason.

This is hilarious 😅
You cannot “nip in the bud” random hypothetical situations all day. Its a waste of time. There are too many actual problems to be freaking out over something no one expressed any intention of doing.
