I’d say all of this has been know since Epstein’s first arrest in 2006. If anything was going to happen it would have happened then.
And yet everything simply kept going. The public release of the files have been interesting, namely things like Chomsky’s involvement and how Elon Musk begged to go to the island. But otherwise it’s been known for decades that Epstein was part of a billionaire human trafficking thing that also might have been Israeli intelligence.
I mean what more is there to say? The files conclusively show that a ton of figures in academia, finance, politics, etc are beholden to an evil practice of billionaire child trafficking. It’s out there in the open and everyone knows it already.
What could more coverage do at this point? The bourgeois pedophiles are still in power. There aren’t any mechanisms for accountability for these people. Not to be too cynical or anything, but no amount of simple exposure was ever going to collapse the system. There also needs to be a structured, organized resistance or else the Epstein class will simply go on with business as usual.
Janeway is a perpetrator of imperialist genocide and furthermore needlessly executed a beloved crewmember (Tuvix). I won’t abide her inclusion next to the esteemed Sisko and Picard, who are both champions of diplomacy and space stuff.
The average American barely has any idea there’s a war even happening or who the president is. Half the people I know think Biden is still president. Even people who do know there’s a war wouldn’t be able to find Iran on a map. Everything about our government and everything it does might as well be a TV show to my fellow Americans. They see it as fiction that doesn’t impact our lives and most people think it’s extremely boring so they tune it out.
People are crashing out but for different but associated reasons. Everyone’s broke, no one can afford healthcare, there’s a mass shooting every 3 days. Everyone’s tired and the alienation is so thick that people are all pointing in different directions to where they think the problem is. People are getting more conspiracy brained and twitchy.
Nothing wrong have happened even if the war in Iran hadn’t started. It’s not like simply paying attention to things in the news makes anything happen.
It’s also insulting to dead Iranian children to say this is simply a distraction. No, this is the mechanisms of American empire operating how it always has. This isn’t some particular case or bad actors, a war with Iran has been cooking since 1979, and the exact preconditions for this war were in fact established by Joe Biden and his refusal to cease weapon shipments to the Zionist Entity. Every single president since Carter has taken an entirely hostile attitude towards Iran and a far more forgiving attitude towards Israel with the intention of engineering these exact circumstances.
This is the machinery and it’s how it works.
