ISB is…a poor choice of acronym.

It’s not really a win though. It just means Linux will get blocked by platforms.

So I did a quick look at the gas tax – it’s $0.184/gallon (a bit more for diesel).
The math says a driver would need to buy around 707 gallons of gas to pay the federal government$130. If we assume you’re filing 15 gallons of gas each time, this would mean you would need to fill up the car about 47 times. Basically, you need to fill up on an almost weekly basis.
So yeah if you own an EV and work from home or are retired, this is definitely unfair. A tiered system would make more sense (e.g., annual miles driven), but you would need some evidence to prove what you owed.
This was a wild thing to see at my local Costco.

Most revenue for federally funded road repairs is collected through diesel and gasoline taxes, which EVs do not pay.
TIL gas is taxed at both the state and federal level. It makes sense for EVs I suppose, but I’m not sure a flat fee is the best approach. The article seems to indicate there were a lot of higher options being thrown around. I wonder how many gallons of gas would $130 equate to.

I’m curious about it, but I’m not sure rogue-like bullet hell games are my jam.

I feel like I can hear the Technology Connections guy take a deeeeep inhale and a long exhale.
My old Wemo smart plugs. Constantly lost connection and the app was so useless for resolving issues.
When they announced they were stopping support this year, I was wondering what they considered support beforehand. Also, there’s a class action lawsuit because of that.
Ouya
Whoa, deep cut

The BBC reported in 2000 that Tehran once purchased dolphins that had been trained for military operations.
Caine at first looked incredulous and said, “I haven’t heard the kamikaze dolphins thing” before joking, ‘You mean like sharks with laser beams?” a reference to the 1997 film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, in which Mike Myers’ character Dr. Evil complains that he could not acquire “sharks with frickin’ laser beams on their heads” and was forced to settle for laser-equipped “mutant sea bass.”

Got a stainless steel TubShroom for our home recently. It’s been awesome.

Contrary to some belief on social media, this doesn’t mean that if the 30-day limit expires, players will lose access to their game forever – it means that after the timer runs out, players won’t be able to play the game again until they connect their console online, so it can perform a validation check.
Key detail for those that get the free monthly games from PS+.
Still annoying though. It’s not really buying the game anymore, but renting with an indefinite return date.
I actually love that it’s ambiguous.
Oh yay creepware. Anyone know a good launcher with support for tablets?

If it ever got out that they did that, it would kill their user base, which is not in their shareholders’ interest.

But, what about accuracy? For GM’s purposes, Strauss says accuracy is not a huge concern at the design stage because finer details are ironed out later in the process. “When it really starts to matter is when we’re getting close to launching a vehicle, and the coefficient of drag is going to be used for our energy calculation, which eventually goes to the certification of our miles per gallon on the sticker.” At that stage, Strauss says, a physical model of the car will be put into a wind tunnel for an exact number.
All in all, by drastically bringing down the time it takes to model the physics, large physics models enable engineers to explore a much greater range of possibilities before a final design is reached.
So this is really just to help iterate on early designs without waiting 2 weeks each time to get feedback on if a design is problematic. This is actually a really great use of machine learning.
He definitely knew by the last season of Clone Wars.

You’re totally right about the fact that they’re supposed to follow the Pope, but they’re also throwing references to the Avignon Papacy.
It could also very well be a schism where you have the American cardinals declare the Pope is from their own ranks backed by the State while another is in Rome. We’ve already seen a superpower do this with Buddhism.
The brain is constantly looking for patterns in your life. It’s trying to relate events and your senses to what you normally do. It does this because it’s looking to save the body energy by automating responses to triggers. (Less energy for thinking about what to do means more energy for other things.)
What this means is there are actions you take without even thinking about it. For example: when you get into your car, you may unconsciously put on your seatbelt.
