The Fifth Season. I’m currently on the second book The Obelisk Gate so can’t attest for the quality of the whole thing but it’s geological fantasy and I find it quite fascinating. The scale of the world and conflict keeps getting bigger and bigger. It’s very dark but also really draws you in as things ramp up. Themes of the paradox of tolerance, and the challenge of preparing for future crises. The magic system she came up with also feels very fresh to me
The show is also excellent
Demon Haunted World is very timely
It was a real slog. It’s more painful than a typical bad movie, because you could see hints of how in another world, it could have been good.
There are solutions aiming to help with that like LibreELEC (basically a minimal backing OS for Kodi). But unfortunately any Linux-based streaming solution will have issues with DRM connecting to Netflix, Prime, etc. There are sidesteps around that too but starts to get more and more challenging for the average user
It just is nice to have Google results in there. I find that’s the coolest part of searxng, showing when the different indexers corroborate each other as important.
Yes, in the last few months they got it right. But there was a long period, maybe half a year where they could not get Google search to work
Searxng is cool but I find myself needing to constantly tweak the container, Google keeps blocking access
I think the point is to be easier than frigate. Eg a full image like home assistant, not needing to fiddle with docker.

For generations, we were taught to value the opinions of the wealthy. Now we know for the vast majority of billionaires, their extreme wealth is mostly due to chance, not inherent ability, or even worse is actually evidence of their lack of character. The illusion has fallen away. They are the last people we should seek advice from on living a moral life. We should punish them for the act of hoarding immoral amounts of wealth to themselves. I am encouraged because this viewpoint seems to be spreading, and even more encouraged because I think they’re scared. They should be scared.
For me I was trying to host it a few years ago on an Nvidia Shield. Found it kept forgetting media and had other performance problems. Was probably a function of trying to use media from an external drive, and maybe bugs with the Nvidia Shield implementation, android scoped storage issues, etc. I went to Jellyfin on a Pi and have found that mostly bulletproof

Yeah, they clearly should charge for what they provide, dynamic DNS and user experience. It’s just about the cost/benefit, which is debatable

The median voter will never realize. They will always forget and eventually get scammed again. I haven’t made peace with this, and feel a kind of grief about it, but it’s the truth. We are trapped in this cycle of idiocy.
