  • The “dont sit close to the TV,” thing is objectively truth and is even worse today

It’s not objective if you’re only citing personal experience, though. I’ve been sitting up close to monitors for almost 30 years now, and my sight is as good as it ever was, except for my left eye seeing slightly worse from that one time I actually did go outside and some dumb kid threw a brick in my face.

  • It’s not a given. Some registars can be total dicks about transfers and drag it until expiry, after which they would kindly offer their services of “negotiating a buyout from the owner” (i.e. themselves), asking $100 upfront just for them say some absurdly high price and then hold it on park for a whole year just out of spite if you ever initiated the process.

  • Do you guys turn your graphics settings to lowest

Pretty much, yeah, lows whenever possible and mediums whenever lows are way too low (i.e. shadows, where low usually means pre-baked only, while medium does dynamic, yet blurry, shadows), and all post-processing disabled. Highs and ultras never provide any tangible difference during gameplay and their use is seemingly mostly limited to benchmarks.

    and most modern anti-aliasing too

TAA can eat a dick. I’d take staircases over ghost edges and flickering shadows any day every day.

  • Recently I picked up a new entertainment of checking reviews of audio equipment stores on local amazon

    Cue Children of Omnissiah

One of the reviews was from a woman who ordered a microphone, an XLR to 3.5mm cable, an apple type c headphone dongle, plugged all that into a car charger and complained that it did not turn her car into karaoke.

Another from a guy with a couple of active speakers who bought an insert cable, so he had to put one of the speakers sideways on top of another to make it reach both ports. Rated 5 stars.

Another picked old soviet DIN5 to 3.5mm cable, jammed it into MIDI OUT port on his digital piano and the other end into line in on his pc soundcard…

  • To be fair, there are active buy offers for that one for ~$5k. The $155 figure is a collection offer, meaning someone is ready to buy anything in that collection, no matter how shitty it is. And, at practically zero liquidity (only one of those ever sot sold after minting), the concept of value becomes meaningless, he could accept the offer and take back $5k, he could list it at something like $20k and it’d likely quickly sell, or he could bullshit one of his rich friends to buy it from him for a million… or he could print that out and jerk it off to it, the therapeutic effect of which might be worth millions for his entertainment business, who knows.
