I’ve been playing Dusklight also, and I accidentally found the clawshot early by jumping down off the first giant gear room onto one of the little platforms that are protected by rock roofs, presumably to stop players from jumping onto them.
This was before I turned the water on so I spent the next hour going from room to room trying to find a small key, since I used the one I needed to turn on the water getting into the clawshot room.

Maybe I’m misremembering but wasn’t it Crusher on the Pasteur ordering warp 13?

Outer Wilds.
An indie developer that had never made a game before thinks they can just show up and drop the best game ever made like it’s no big deal?
And then you actually start playing the game and there’s no annoying partner character constantly holding your hand and feeding you hints with corny quippy voice lines? You mean to say I have to figure out how to play on my own?
And don’t even get me started on the community. I’ve never seen a group of people more concerned with spoilers to maintain the mystery for new players.
And it’s a game you can only play once and then that’s it? How does the developer expect to make any money selling microtransactions if their players only get to experience the greatest thing ever published once and then never come back but are compelled to talk about it given any opportunity until the end of time?

Dusk has its own bloom implementation but its still really far too noticeable. There was something about games from this time that went totally over the top with the bloom

So we’re OK with vigilante murders now?

Nobody is pedaling this thing. Manufacturers want to make a motorcycle with broad appeal that doesn’t require a license to operate and current e bike laws let them get away with it by slapping a crankset on it.

Or as I like to call it, somethingElse+Linux

Get some help

robots.txt would probably put a stop to that

The solution to the puzzles are extremely clever and you’re given just enough hints to be able to solve them, but this game demands your attention and every bit of your concentration to be able to fit it all together. The payoff is massive though, the final 30-40 minutes is one of the most memorable and emotional moments I have ever had playing video games.

Outer Wilds, for example, is a game you can only play once.
That has not stopped me from downloading a randomizer mod to squeeze more hours out of it.
More Gator Days on Lemmy please. I’d love if the author posted here directly.

I like Penny Arcade’s take
Repacks for me have been very hit or miss with Wine, but the issues usually start from the installer and not the game itself.
Just one more drive bro. Please one just one more

You could probably bike it in five also. I went from walking to biking for my commute and I really enjoyed having the option to go home for lunch or to detour and grab some groceries after work.

Maybe that’s what we all need right now in our journalling

For remote management, I just enable SSH, configure it to run on some non-standard port and enable Fail2ban… Make sure I use certificates or secure passwords and also check if fail2ban is actually doing its job. Never had any issues with that setup.
This is what I’ve done for years, but I sometimes feel like it’s not a great solution from a security standpoint.
Though I have switched from fail2ban to Crowdsec, which did end up banning my own connection attempts when I forgot to whitelist myself, so that seems secure enough.
Thank John Forester for that one
