  • The good years for the Soviet Union were after 1945 and prior to 1973,
after it defeated 80-90% of Nazi military aggression and before start of the petrol dollar scheme.

But we can also fast forward towards a new wave of communism.
It’s inevitable. The petrol dollar scheme only delayed it by a few decades and there’s no more schemes to be had that would have the same impact.
LNG schemes, kidnapping Maduro, invading Iran, world tariffs, AI, none of it is going to help stop the resurgence.

Do you use vim as your default text editor?

Not just text editor, but also IDE via rocks.nvim.
Ever since I wanted to edit some file that had like 2000 lines and I just wanted to quickly go to line 1164.
Nano wasn’t cut out for that and I hadn’t heard of emacs.
But I use a Typematrix dvorak keyboard, so I had to rearrange all the command.
Now I’m stuck with it and I enjoy it.

If you do not, have you ever been in a situation you could do nothing but use vim?

Yeah, whenever I type git commit -m "message goes here"
Also, I wanted to program on a server, so I ssh’d into it and decided that vim was the way to go as an IDE.

  • Plus, China has billionaires. Any truly non-capitalistic country wouldn’t have ~~ billionaires~~ oligarchs. Nor would they have factory workers working for 75 hours per week.

I would define a transition from capitalism to socialism as
Merchants & lawyers out of power
and engineers (laborers) & academics into power,
    which is what China has.
The US isn’t failing true capitalism while still secretly being feudalistic,
just because land lords and TV evangelists exist,
while George Bush Jr, eldest son of George Bush Senior, became leader of the land in 2000.
China just had a capitalistic phase due to Deng’s reforms,
just like the US had a socialist phase due to Roosevelt’s reforms.
Both of those did not last, because ultimately those in power are
socialist for China (engineers & academics)
and capitalist for the US (merchants & lawyers).
The capitalist phase is already waning under Xi,
just like the socialist phase did under Nixon did for the US.

Considering that China is known for its heavy censorship and is in good cahoots with Russia, it isn’t racist to be suspicious.

Lol. Do you really use such language with your own nation?
If not, you are selective and that begs the question as to why
and what pattern would emerge out of what you are selective to.
I highly doubt you ever said something along the lines of
“The EU/UK is in good cahoots with the US”,
despite the fact that EU NATO chief Rutte openly called Trump “daddy”.
I don’t see Putin doing that with Xi. Putin is not even running
    a socialist country.
And Putin talks about a multipolar world in which Russia is one of those poles.

  • The US has to go through the process of fascism only to be conquered or overthrown by socialists, something that didn’t happen during the Interbellum or world war II.
Last time they went social democratic to preserve capitalism as US socialists were already drawing their pitchforks.
This time around however, the capitalists want to hold onto power even as their capitalist society is on the brink of collapsing. This time, like last time in Nazi Germany, the US merchants refuse to take any concessions during a crisis, so fascism it has already chosen.
This means the US is already going through a painful transition as fascism is known to be a unstable and (self-)destructive form of governance.

But what is fascism? I have my own take on it and on socialism by the way…

Here you see a table I made that lists all the standard socio-economic forms of governance.
All standard have three sets of people called estates.
The First estate sets the rules, second estate sets the direction of society and the third estate keeps the gears of society running.
This differs I think from the usual socialist picture (correct if I’m wrong) where Marx had in mind that all estates would become one.
It also differs I think from what capitalists think of themselves, because merchants are not mentioned anywhere in the constitution, are not in the government or anywhere in the trias politica and yet they get first row seats in inaugerations and VIP invitations during delegations.

To me, fascism is capitalism, but with a ruling class so powerful that the legitimizer (if that’s a word, I make up words) class has become insignificant and with the first estate gone, the ruling class reigns with impunity.

It will collapse and when it does, we will enter a world with a majority of socialist states very soon.
If not, the world will go straight to communism.
