I’ve been through Amarillo, TX and it was kinda surreal. The ONLY two kinds of business in the city are steak houses and gas stations. It felt like a movie set.

My old roommate. He would make like 20 chicken drumsticks in the night/evening, eat one or two of them, and then leave them to sit out all night only to throw them away in the morning. It did not just happen once, he did it like at least 4 times. Huge waste of food.
He also once cooked [my!] ground beef with 0 seasoning, literally just in a pan. And while he has that plain ground beef sitting in a container in the fridge, he started defrosting another pound of MY beef. What are you going to use it for?? You already have plain ground beef that you cooked literally yesterday!?!?
He also had this ancient and suffering blind & deaf chihuahua who wore diapers, and he would leave the dirty diapers in the most random places including on top of the electricity utility box in front of the house where everybody can see it.
I did not even believe in idiots/stupid people until I met this guy. He was also a big fan of Charlie Kirk, by the way.

I don’t know anything about horses, but definitely take a look at Prescott. Just to name a few other places you might be interested in: Cottonwood, Sedona, maybe Queen Creek. Maybe Casa Grande, Coolidge, Florence.

I grew up near Phoenix but I don’t know anything about those Kentucky cities. Cursory glance at Richmond makes me think of Prescott. Similar population, has a university.
AZ also has Florence, if you’re interested in Versailles for its European name 🤷♀️
What is it about those KY cities that you like?

Back when I was really into Pokemon I liked Dewott. After not playing Pokemon for several years, I think Pikachu became my favorite; it’s really the only pokemon you get exposed to if you don’t play the games and the design is very iconic.
About a year ago I played Cobblemon (Minecraft Pokemon) and Joltik / Galvantula became my new favorite. 🕷️

Spelunky 2 is working its way up to #1 for me. Still working on 7-99, my best is like 7-64

You’re basically right. The kami in origami means paper 紙 while the kami in kamikaze means god 神. That doesn’t mean you couldn’t make a pun about it, but the more fundamental problem is that kamikaze does not mean “suicide attack” in Japanese. The actual word for it is tokkou 特攻, a euphemism that means “special attack”.
Kamikaze originally refers to this historical event where a “divine wind” protected Japan from invasion. The term was later used in relation to suicide attacks, but I think tokkou is the word that’s more commonly associated with the WW2 suicide attacks in Japanese and kamikaze has kept its original definition.

It doesn’t have a title but it goes like “Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click.”
It’s my ceiling fan. I recommend it if you’re hot.

Even if you believe in many worlds that are created by quantum events, you don’t have to think that those events are influenced by or have anything to do with free will

Depends on your particular device. Mine will go 90° but not 180°.

What do you use it for? The only game I found that worked really well was Metroid Prime (after a ton of tweaking)

Reminds me of the beginning of Moby Dick
Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people’s hats off—then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards the ocean with me.
Misogyny probably originates from a place of jealousy, tbh. They take a little more maintenance, but vaginas are absolutely the superior sex organ.
Sigmund Freud reading this and exploding 🤯💥

What I imagine to be the “true” answer to the question is that “consciousness” isn’t really real, but if it’s thought of as a result of physical/chemical properties, then there’s no dividing line between what reactions count as consciousness (ie, a waterfall or tectonic plate could also be conscious).
You can’t prove that you experience that sort of intangible experience and it can’t be measured or well-defined, so I’m personally inclined to not really believe in it at all.
OR if we do accept that it’s a result of chemical reactions and we want to define it in terms of those, then there’s not a strong reason to differentiate a human experience from rocks or computers or waterfalls.
I think people are inclined to think that such a thing exists because we have the abilities of memory and communication, but the concept itself I think is not very useful. Which is why I suspect that a magically True answer would say that the physicality of the brain itself is as close as you can get to that idea.

The physical processes themselves are the so-called subjective conscious experience in a way that cannot be better described by an abstraction.
There’s no such thing as a conscious experience without physical processes and no hard-line difference between different physical reactions that would differentiate consciousness and non-consciousness.

There’s a couple really cool old anime forums I’ve found before. This one is definitely the coolest, but it’s in French so I don’t really understand very much of it:

“it was intended to make roads safer, but one guy told us it’s done just the opposite”
Okay, so I guess that one guy being angry is the opposite of safety.
