Thos is far from a Nintendo exclusive problem.
It is the way entire industries are going (and have neen going for decades).
It’s only strong consumer protection laws that stand in their way.

I don’t get it either, but it was also a big problem on Reddit for years.

They’ll still track you.
There are (admittedly inconvenient) actions I can take to reduce how much I’m tracked, and also to intentionally pollute a portion of the tracking data that they do collect.
Or I could just give up and let the fuckers win…

There are four lights.

AI agents will be become invisible, inescapable, follow you across devices
But what if I don’t want them to?

The cameras on poles can’t see literally everywhere, and can’t physically follow you around.
And the cameras on poles have (at least in theory) regulations and laws governing how their footage can (and cannot) be used.
MetaCreepSpecs don’t have any such restrictions.

with metal parts to make a working gun.
That’s always convention “forgotten” in all these breathless “think of the children” arguments.
You can’t fully 3-d print a working gun that isn’t as dangerous to the user as it is to the target.

Not necessarily.
A phone that goes to a university campus for a few hours each day then to a mall for 4 hours every evening will imply a much different level of income than one that goes to bankers row on Bay Street during the day, and also goes to some international destination for a week at a time several times a year.
All without needing to know exactly who is paying the phone bill, or who is carrying the phone.

European carmakers have dozens of EV models on the market, and they are dominating the EU market
Yet the north American manufacturers have (at best) only 1 or 2 models of EV available, and those are priced in their luxury range, then they complain that nobody wants to buy EVs, so they double down on massive SUVs and unnecessary pickups.

In my experience, the best we can do is change the bus schedules so you have to walk further to a bus stop and wait longer for a bus that never arrives at the scheduled time…

The world’s car makers struggled to compete with Japan back in the '70s, but I would argue that struggle gave people access to better vehicles.
Turned out the winning move was to make affordable cars that were fuel efficient to operate and people would rush to buy them.

vapes need to have a major crackdown
no more ads
no more sugary flavours
As a first step, ban disposable vapes.
There is literal tons of electronics and lithium batteries getting thrown in the trash because of that bullshit.

but unfortunately, Organic Maps doesn’t offer public transit directions/schedules in my region
It is based on data from the Open Street Map project.
If nobody in your area has added that information, it won’t be there.
The good news is, anyone (including you) can add that information and provide a public service to the people of your area.

but to get it available when you aren’t at home will require you to learn a bit about networking
And, importantly, to learn about network security.
As soon as you open a hole in your home’s firewall and/or NAT there is the potential for a bad actor to enter through that hole, if you haven’t properly fortified it.

Apparently, the company hired to do the analysis can tell someone’s age and income level from cellphone data.
According to Environics own website they use cellular data in combination with other databases to infer those demographic signals.
It doesn’t use only cell data to determine your age or income category.

Fuck every single person who is a part of this in any capacity
Including those who voted for it, and those who were able to vote against it but failed to do so.

And therefore should have more protections under the law than corporations.

Trump would be pressured to agree.
I don’t share your optimism.
Unless he thinks it is a good deal for him personally, and that it was his idea all along, he is unlikely to agree.
And even if he agrees, history tells us that he won’t necessarily stick to that agreement.
There are a helluva lot of things that “I cannot see happening” that the USA is actively doing right now (and over the last decade or more) .
