I use both at home, mostly plex though and I have about a dozen people who watch remotely and keeping the remote access private and secure I’m not putting jellyfin behind a public reverse proxy. Not feasible to setup wire guard for a dozen people across 4 states and troubleshooting those tunnels when Plex does all that for me. Plus Plex allows them to manage and reset their password without my intervention

Which is not within the bounds they mentioned

They mentioned remote streaming which jellyfin doesn’t have a secure way to do by itself

My work started a trial of Duo and it actually was rather helpful. I liked it better than other teams just copy pasting output from gitlab to claude or something. Integrated well and had the option to hide all of it if you didn’t want any of it.
I have several US V2 plugs from athom.tech and they work great via home assistant. They just sit on WiFi don’t call home and are reliable through hoke assistant

I have a company laptop with win11 that some days can’t go longer than 6 hours without a reboot because something stopped working. The ubuntu machine I use instead I restart once a month

Easy for me but not my aunts, cousins or father in law to setup and use.

Thank you I appreciate the info I mentally already shifted to not using amazon for ebooks anymore but there are occasional sales I’ll have to get this new method setup soon.

I just set this up last week to finally organize and dedrm my amazon eBook library I downloaded before they disabled that. Working great so far.

Bitwarden was the second thing I ever self hosted. On a local server on a UPS and hasn’t really been an issue across 7 years. Every so often I save an encrypted JSON on my main laptop to use with keepass if there’s ever an issue where the server is down for a while.
It’s been a while but I used automatic-ripping-machine for a long time and worked well. Definitely going to take a look at this in the coming weeks.
