I wouldn’t have that expectation if I were you. Based on how both our comments got downvoted I suspect the beautiful Lemmings on here still live with a “no! I don’t accept, we’re better than this”

Yet once you go to those (especially orange) areas and you see how flamingly openly full racist and white nationalist those people have become in the last 10 20 years, it becomes harder to think of a culturally aligned Europe.

People forget this post WWII near 90 year on continuous peace time was extraordinarily exceptional and not how Europe typically fares through a century.

It overlaps significantly with areas where there are strong nationalist and sometimes separatist movements.

No thousands of people, influencers, journalists, the fucking Woz wrote, called and organised online protest and petitions and forced the world’s biggest corporation to back off.

This is actually more of a [email protected] / [email protected] story than boring or dystopian.

There is plenty of that going around these days, but this isn’t it. Yes, they might try again and I’m confident that they will fail each time they try to do this.

Collective action. Americans aren’t used to that, but even the fat cats at Apple recognise it when they’re up against it.

You can ring Apple for so many other things. Don’t choose stuff you can’t prove, or stuff they had to very publicly backtrack because they were forced to listen to their user base.

it doesn’t matter. the principle is that if x is the length of your context window, then at 0.4x the chance of hallucinations start increasing exponentially. we’re now at token windows of 1M, and all it does is shift that hallucination window further away, so the model ‘feels’ stronger because it takes longer before it hallucinates, but eventually it always does.
