Who said every 2 years tho?
you forgot what thread you are in lol:
60% of PC gamers have no plans to build a new PC in **the next two years **— AI pricing crunch on RAM and other components paralyze enthusiast market
Without knowing any technical details, anybody can see by looking that it will be be harder to build and maintain something like is pictured with those fragile individual car covers. A strong wind would take them away.
Why not build a proper roof to put them on?

A hobby where 40% of people need a new fancy computer every 2 years is bad for the planet.

But aren’t there a lot of compatibility issues when trying to upgrade?
I wonder of the motivations were different, that could be mitigated with diffent engineering priorities.

If you live in a major city your public library might have musical instruments to loan.

Like parents “throwing away” unhealthy Halloween candy.

There’s no way to “detect” it other than tearing apart whatever it’s hidden in.
The Wikipedia article describes how they detected it at the time, with two different mathods. It was first stumbled onto accidentally then there was a focused attempt to pinpoint the source which was successful. Now that technique can be used any time a thorough check is required.

Not what you were asking, but delta chat is an app that turns email into chat. Same premise.
I use the f droid store as a launcher almost more than I use my launcher’s native feature when I have to use an app thats not on the home screen. I can’t remember the weird names people give their projects so I just search for what I need and open whatever is already installed.
I use bitwarden password manager to keep notes about websites because it loads in the sidebar according to URL automatically. (More useful on desktop than mobile.)

Forgeo?
Yesterday I went to read a review on a show and when you click to read past the preview you hit a wall asking for an account (and in my recollection a payment). Must be a recent change.
I hit the same wall as OP yesterday but found myself on tvtropes instead which now has about 20 tabs open.

Email list tracking is much worse.
It gets me riled up because every email list does it. Even when I know that the people who run it have no interest in it. Non-profit, non-creepy organizations have it turned on by default. They may not even be aware of it.
It turns me off the whole concept of email lists because I have to be on guard to not click any of their links by mistake.

ublock doesn’t seem to strip refers. Try clicking this and see the URL bar: http://yahoo.co.uk/?illusionist
I didn’t ask the admin, I am asking the community for a sanity check
On reddit they had bots that would automatically repost the content of the post so it couldn’t be deleted.
