oh no they only have 3.5 billion users how will meta ever survive, their ability to take on debt must mean they are seen as unable to pay debts

I’d say there isn’t a difference here, which is why they are both on the right side in the chart. The survey probably just had that option to appease people who have the opinion “but that’s it’s not a matter of morality at all!”

Just use pacman, it’s fine, and less fiddly than manually installing a binary to your PATH

Haha yeah college in Quebec is free for Canadians so I mean, not a bad idea

Windows now Chromebooks?
Literally anywhere on Google. But it also makes sense when you think about ChromeOS & non-us aligned countries - what else are they gonna use?
HEY BUT DO YOU WANT TO USE A PASSCODE?? PASSCODE! PASSCODE! USE THE PASSCODE! -_-

I don’t get it, it’s just a markdown file, which is how llm specs already get written. I’m supposed to trust that the llm will “compile” it correctly every time without touching the code output? What happens when the code gets huge and complex, a “recompile” entails waiting for ages to get something similar to what others compiled? What am I missing?

So he’s a badass Robinhood pirate that steals code from corporations and gives it to the people?

Tesla sunset two of their models, three still for sale and being built. Definitely not giving up on AI or FSD, they are doubling down on cybercab, and elons pay package is tied to FSD subscriptions. If anything, the messaging is they are ramping up AI investment. Humans crash and burn regularly too. Brilliant engineers have definitely not given up, I’m not sure why anyone would think that. AI has continued to improve pretty steadily in all areas (see benchmarks)
I unironically want this to make wizard scrolls
It’s just unsettled law, and the link is basically an opinion piece. But guess who wins major legal battles like this - yep, the big corps. There’s only one way this is going to go for AI generated code

Yeah like I said, there are insane outliers. But you gotta give it to him, he did crazy and creative things nobody else did successfully, over and over, and there is a clear intentionality to his conduct. He does indeed network very efficiently. I can’t imagine him being easily replaced either

Paywalled but overall I’ve come to the conclusion that executive pay isn’t as insane as it seems. Like yeah okay there are outliers that are insane, but it’s actually a super difficult role to hire for, and certainly not a role AI can replace soon. It involves:
These aren’t skills to be taken lightly and they take years to develop, to be a good manager & bear responsibility for the lives of many employees. If AI made proposals, someone still has to actually judge which ideas to pursue, so you can’t really get rid of the job. Maybe you could reduce the amount of executives. But when a company has leadership that’s actually coherent and works, employees like them, it’s a goldmine that needs to be protected by the owners

Huh I guess it’s “normal” but I hadn’t heard of Linux OSes tracking active user telemetry. Turns out this is a fedora / rpm mechanism that tracks the ip addresses of people updating their system. Something to think about. Archlinux for example does not do any form of this tracking as far as I can tell

Wow holy crap, great work - the world badly needs this. Im assuming the mechanism is the same, you inject a js script into your site. I’m also very interested in pure server side solutions for analytics, but they can’t hit all the features you did in a generic way afaik
Already happened with Cerebras and they landed at a stable 2x of the open. SpaceX is probably going to be next & set the real standard
