  • I actually live near one of the sites. Even a year ago or whenever the tickets and matchups were announced, it seemed all the tickets were unobtainium. Saw insane prices for random matchups.

I would’ve liked to participate in the spectacle but I didn’t want to spend thousands for me and a friend to go see Eritrea v. New Guinea or some such other prelim matchup I had no interest in.

So then I got to thinking, how many people (genuine fans) from some of these countries are actually able to travel to North America paying peak travel and accommodation costs in addition to the match ticket cost? It must be the 1% of the 1% of many fanbases.

  • The jobs will just become (even more) horrible amagamations of fullstack development mixed with customer service. Meaning you’ll be forced to sit on “urgent” live support lines and incident bridge calls, management will expect you to magically be able to answer any question about all facets of every integration and table the stupid thing touches, at the drop of a hat, including the vibecode garbage some other team just deployed yesterday, and you’ll also have to do tier 1 type of tickets where you walk some illiterate fucktard through how to click the single sign-on button.

  • Something to be cautious of, but we need more actual evidence. Hopefully several different groups with diverse political interests and localities audit the new hardware when it launches.

I have a 2 year old cheap Motorola smartphone because I needed a Googled normie Android burner for certain apps, and I don’t like to mix work and private device functions. I will say stock Motorola devices come with an annoying customized version of Android with tons of bloatware out of the box. I was able to remove 99% of it with ADB after identifying the offending packages.

Obvs that shouldn’t be a problem with custom De-Googled OS on Motorola hardware.
