Yeah in decent countries the min wage and being able to afford a broken leg (or similar accident) aren’t as closely related. Mean maybe only got so many sick / vacation days but the actual cost of treatment isn’t what you’re worried about. At worse you’d be out the money you’d make during non working days, not much of an actual cost (okay in Canada I had to pay for the crutches when I twisted my knee one close to Xmas time slipping on ice, unfortunately didn’t realize it just needed a good knock in to get right till that happened)

There are worse situations but that’s probably the worst case scenario (well outlying cases exist) that most people come into for the most part is all. Of course some worst cases exist but expecting someone to pay 5 plus digits (okay I know that’s even low) of expenses for medical is insane.

  • Rising tide, boats etc. More flippant than I mean, I really do wish we could figure out a more equal society, and I do well enough. If I did worse but more people could not worry, I’d be okay with that too. As long as it was a society wide thing not just working classs gets kneecapped while the rich get richer.

  • That’s why I just read the jist of things and if I decide, ignore it. Course I’m an old fart so like an old fart and just ignore people who say things I don’t agree with (not really I try and take viewpoints into consideration at all times)

Sorry went on a bit but I always take comments with a grain of salt, then have to aggregate them like meta for game reviews to get an idea. Half the random comments have no substance, ignore them. Find the ones that have good points, consider if it’s worth watching…then just do what you want anyways. Only so much time I’m this world.

Though comments give you a rough idea of what’s decent, can’t rely on them in end. Growing up just ended up renting from box covers, way worse than this idea, so premise is interesting? Give it a shot. Can always press stop.

  • I never watched it growing up but everything I’ve heard about it since I was an adult is great. Never watched much skit comedy outside of kids on the hall and that’s just when not much else was on.

Nowadays I’d say the kids in the hall stuff was much better than other stuff I watched, cause I’m not sure I even remember…some syndicated sitcom I assume, waiting for dinner.

Still recall some of the taglines as little as I saw it, since you were waiting for the next show (possibly Simpsons at one point on cbc).

  • Though they’re not really EU anymore at least. Unless I’m missing something? Like yes Europe but not EU.

I really hope Canada can be part of that union, our landmass isn’t overly strong democraticly (due to certain neighbors effing things up) though it’d be an awesome middle finger to the US if Mexico could join as well. Oh look you’re surrounded by people not in your coolition, funny how that happens when you decide to be a complete asshole eh?

Let’s bring everyone up that we can, even if we get used to less because we all have to live on this planet may as well work together…that’s a pipe dream I know but wouldn’t it rock if we all found out how to get along, share and communicate? Again if only.

Mean I get lots of changes need to happen to make that a possibility but not like we don’t have time to work things out and figure out how we can all prosper.

  • Also the Democrat that was raided (yesterday?) who led the redistricting initiative in VA. They’ll do more of that for the tiniest thing going forward to make them seem less trustworthy and get people voting Republican. The whole system is pretty much shot for the usual and given how finicky and uninformed the US voters are (as a whole) they’ll falll for any tiny thing. They already put a convicted felon in the white house after the whole COVID thing that he was in charge of (and possibly responsible for due to his disbanding the pandemic team in China) his first term.

Awful teacher even if they had questions no one would know, cause maybe they had a prodigy in their class or maybe someone that studied that subject to death, that’s a horrible outcome for the kid who got all questions correct.

I guess you could go Farnsworth route and say penmanship counts. (Futurama joke). Though at a certain age range that’s not really applicable I guess it depends the grade level for my annoyance at that teacher I’ll probably forget it in a moment anyways. Still awful teacher if they got all questions correct, and wasn’t a trick one in there.

Edit forgot to add also if the work showed all steps of logic (usually math but sure you get what I mean). No one learning should be denied a perfect score if they learned it is all.

Oh I agree, though many people lived through it back then and I would think they’re stronger than most these days for handling it. Just don’t think it was so attractive as OP put it is all. First bit of rdr2 was a blizzard scene unless Im misremembering, that alone would weed out a ton if they couldn’t handle things.

  • To be fair he’s been sober longer since being sober to now than from being published to getting sober. But I don’t doubt that in the early years it helped write through some worse times.

Though if you read on writing the dude made a shitload of money from Carrie and I think his next novel to buy an awesome house.

Okay doubled checked 200k (what he made from Carrie) in 74 is worth about 1.3 million now (though probably over years I just did the inflation calculator from its release). Dude won the lottery on his first novel and kept writing … Well some great some not as fun, but never technically awful. Though opinions differ for sure. I always enjoyed his books overall, first novel I read over 1000 pages, and way too young IT.

Have you ever been outside in -40 weather? Or spent a night in it? Or spent a day in 40c weather without ac? I’m only curious cause of your stance. Both suck ass, been at both (thankfully we had cabins available at the -40 weather when the fire went out).

Mean it sounds quant but you can try the actual stuff beforehand, spend a week in the bush with minimal goods, I haven’t and wouldn’t want to. I still treked through them for a month due to a school I was in, that’s the summer side though not hot just usual summer temps.

Not trying to harsh ya or anything it’s just until you’ve been through a month of camping (okay we did have food brought in) or very cold weather for a few nights outdoors it’s hard to be serious about wanting that.

Mean if you want to die hunting? Have at it. I’m just saying you need some build up before you get to what you’d prefer and survive well.

And to those that do it? They have my respect I’ve been in the wild even with food drops, and it can suck for anyone used to modern world. Also I’m in my late 40s my experience was early 90s when gortex was awesome to have as an outer wear and few of us had it.

Also the first game was one of the few games I’ve finished in my life (yes I suck at games plus adhd) and quite enjoyed the second but never finished it. Stuck on a mission where everything is aggro or something it just stopped being fun

I do see your view though for sure and can appreciate it.

  • Aren’t all the Plantir people (well people with money high up) epushing for an accelerationist movement with their stuff? I would think the billionaires are serious is all. Mean it sounds freaking stupid to me but I don’t have the bullhorn that the people who have all our private data does is all. However with the US they’re using project 2025 as a starting point before they buy up everything after it breaks. Least that’s what it appears, mean the VP is picked, groomed and supported by Theil. Just have to let them break enough then swoop in and mould a society they wanted. It’s not something 99.99% of what people would want from what I can tell.

Perhaps I’m missing some subtly which I will say I haven’t really looked into the definitions a lot but I don’t think with current forces is as much of a strawman as it may seem is all. Though I don’t think people on that side would want the same outcome as Mr Green is all.
