Yea I eventually learned how to not get offended by the generalizations, prior to the diagnosis, but the whole “taking it literally” thing took a bit to get over

I was never vocal about it but used to be somewhat a “not all men” type of person in my early 20s. At least in my head.
Then I got diagnosed with autism. Turns out I just don’t understand most other men.

My only tv is an almost 10 year old Roku tv… Guess it’s time to finally dig into the settings and figure out if I can bypass the home screen and get it to just boot to a raspberry pi or something

Age of legal consent isn’t 18 across the whole US, it’s 17 in Louisiana. Pretty sure 16 in some states?

Oh I just toss the controllers to the side and use a mini Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. One of the controllers has a mouse built into it too, kinda funky, I don’t use it often.
May use it as the brains and screen of a cyberdeck build eventually

I went with the Lenovo legion go for the switch-like removable controllers. It’s running CachyOS and I use it more as a mini computer than a gaming device. Same, gaming just doesn’t do as much for me as it used to

With the amount of AI powered cameras being put up around cities around the world… Yea they could use tech like that to monitor runways too

“and performing lap dances on said statue” per the linked article
Eh, in this case yes, but I’ve seen two musicians do it at hardcore and metal shows recently. Both after talking about mental health and/or suicide within the community. I’m fine with those

Yea tech got corrupted with the high software salaries. A friend of a friend is a software engineer, really smart guy, really nice and fun to be around from the few times I met him. But I lost a lot of respect for him once he told me he works for Samsung’s ad department. I’m sure he makes a crap load though.

Fair point. I wasn’t really thinking of the book of revelations when I made that comment. Or the concept of hell. I’m agnostic/atheist now and don’t really care what people think the afterlife or end of times may look like (as long as they’re not actively trying to start the apocalypse or some shit). I more meant the teachings about loving your neighbor and feeding the hungry and helping the poor.
Pretty sure he also taught about false prophets and not trying to predict the end of times, but they seem to be ignoring that too, at least the extremists. I’d be on board with people living their daily lives how Christ taught is what I meant.

I grew up in Texas in the 90s, in their public schools and going to church every Sunday. I’d be fine with Christianity if they all actually read the teachings of Christ and acted accordingly. But… Nah…
And even then, if that fantasy were reality, it shouldn’t be forced in public schools
Thanks :) I got incredibly lucky and walked away with only 3 bruises and a couple scrapes.
Oh neat, I’m one of the green people in the first two rows. Not 100% sure how fast they were going, somewhere in that range. Just glad it was a short sedan and not a big truck/SUV. I live in the US, could’ve easily been a truck and ran over me instead of me toppling onto the hood.

I literally just recommended CachyOS to my boss while we were complaining about Windows 11 in our one on one meeting today

It has always applied to LEO. Scifi media transformed it into the idea of “nothing will ever be able to leave the planet ever again” but the original studies that the phrase originated from included LEO. Despite the fact that there is enough atmosphere that a lot of the debris would experience sufficient drag for their orbits to decay within several years, not decades or millenia, it would still have huge impacts.

I’ve had to do training at work that I’m fairly certain was mostly AI generated. The pics and audio seemed to be. And even the questions that I had to get right in order to complete the training… Some of them just weren’t covered in the training. Come on
I looked it up real quick. I hate the name of the term. It’s AEO “answer engine optimization” fuck that, we’re fucked
Edit: I guess the word answer doesn’t necessarily mean CORRECT answer, but to me it leans that way. I think response may have been a better word to use there
