  • About the capitalist states, it doesn’t depend on you whether or not we exist. If you don’t like us, don’t accept our invitations, and don’t invite us to come to see you. Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!

Yeah, I know, it’s from Khrushchev. But it’s a banger and he wasn’t wrong tbf.

Atomic war is inevitable. It will destroy half of humanity: it is going to destroy immense human riches. It is very possible. The atomic war is going to provoke a true inferno on Earth. But it will not impede Communism.

Another banger, even if Posadas is kind of a meme (deserved for being a Trotskyist).

Decided to go with quotes I didn’t expect anyone else to post so as not to be monotonous. Plus, even revisionists can have crazy good lines.

  • I get what you’re saying - and I agree that more needs to be done - but more cannot be done until we start treating the issues seriously. That’s the point of “Believe All Women”: it is the beginning, not the end. Violence against women cannot end until it is taken seriously. Even women getting the political power to fight this issue ourselves requires being taken seriously first. There is no emancipation for women from patriarchy at all until the social attitudes - which go far beyond what individuals believe - that mock and patronize women are confronted.

You can apply a similar approach to the working class: if you view workers as stupid, helpless, lazy, or uncivilized (all of which are common classist stereotypes of working class people) then you’re not going to be meaningfully advancing workers’ rights or our emancipation from wage slavery.

Same thing with racism: you have to acknowledge other races as humans before you can end white supremacy.

    Etc.

  • Sorry, I didn’t think it was needed since I wasn’t going into explicit details.

That is a fair response. The issue with critics of the USSR is that while they mostly rely on atrocity fiction and Orwellian propaganda they often end up stumbling on genuine criticisms every now and then and making them part of their arguments. This ends up lending credence to their other, more sensationalist criticisms just by association which in turn makes their propaganda more effective (propaganda is most effective when the core claim isn’t necessarily a lie) and has the side effective of comrades dismissing genuine critique as propaganda by mistake, which can make us look bad if its a real critique.

As for resources I don’t really do a lot of research on Soviet society myself; mostly I just absorb the research of other comrades. Lady Izdihar and RevolutionaryTh0t have several videos going over women’s rights in the USSR (and really just Soviet society in general) if you’re interested. You can find them both on YouTube.

  • I know there’s an entire Spanish Armada of disinformation about the USSR - especially during the Stalin years - but I am instinctively skeptical of claims that Lavrentiy Beria wasn’t a sex pest.

For one thing, I believe all women.

For another it’s not exactly hard to imagine a man in a position of power abusing said power to take advantage of women - especially when that man is a cop and being the head of the NKVD does make you a cop no matter what way you try to look at it and all cops at the end of the day are bastards.

Of course I can still accept this possibility that it might not be true; I’m just very suspicious of the claim when covering up the sex crimes of powerful men is a recurring theme throughout history and despite the great progress the USSR made on the front of women’s liberation there was still a very visible patriarchal culture present right up until the end.

Again: I accept it could be bullshit. I just really doubt it.

  • The Beta “Southern France” v. the Chad Occitània

You’re not wrong for wanting your culture in all its forms to endure in the face of state persecution. It’s sad that Gallicization is pushed from the highest level with little pushback or criticism. Of all the things France does that rightly deserve criticism this is one of the quieter ones and I think that’s a damn shame.

Communist parties especially should be speaking about these issues. National chauvinism is another facet of capitalist oppression as much as heteronormativity, patriarchy, white supremacy, etc. and needs to be treated accordingly.

  • Your thesis was already proven wrong on October 7, 1949 when the German Democratic Republic was born out of the ashes of the Greater German Reich. From the very microsecond the fascist dog reared its ugly face in Central Europe our German comrades resisted; before the Nazis came to power, during the height of their power, and long after the Nazis were ultimately destroyed. Even as Red Army tanks bulldozed their way through Berlin there were ordinary Germans resisting and the fruits of their labor were one of the most successful socialist projects in Europe. While they didn’t do it alone without them it wouldn’t have happened at all; or at least it wouldn’t have lasted as long as it did. Even in the Western Nazi Empire the sons and daughters of Nazi Party officials found their way into the ranks of the Red Army Faction, staring down the Gestapo successors that would ultimately destroy them with defiance. Even in Latin America the children of the Nazi refugees were capable of rebelling against the evil of their parents and fighting for a better world. Even now, after the neo-Nazis have emerged victorious and are spreading their vile ideals once more there are still comrades in Germany resisting. They aren’t special or unique in any way; they are regular people capable of learning everything you and I have learned. The literal forbears of our movement were two German men.

Pessimism of the intellect, optimism of the will.

Doomer logic is not Marxist. The fascist is the one who surrenders to the mentality of the immutable nature of a people; that some people are just inherently irredeemable. This is the path to dehumanization and that path only leads to death camps and genocide. An individual may be hopeless but an entire nation of people cannot be. That is simply not possible and there is no evidence to the contrary. Your comrades are here in the USA fighting for the same thing you’re fighting for and even if you can’t see it we are making progress despite the multi-billion dollar propaganda machine doing everything it can to silence and discredit us. The victories of our comrades abroad is emboldening us here to fight harder and we are doing that. You can argue that we’re not fighting hard enough, or that we’re not making enough progress, or that we’re not pushing people fast enough, but you can’t say we’re doing nothing because that just is not true and is a deep insult to everything we’ve accomplished so far.

Weeks and decades, comrade, weeks and decades.

It happened in Germany and it can happen in Germany again. It can happen here in the USA, too. Hell, if conditions permit, it might even happen in Occupied Palestine one day as far fetched as that may seem to those of us living through current events. Where there are human beings subjected to the contradictions of capitalism there is the opportunity to build socialism. The minute we start believing otherwise we may as well just surrender and start digging our own mass graves.

  • Using nukes would just make everything worse tbh. Not only would it ruin the infrastructure they’re trying to take control of it would create chaos in the general region and I think would really push people away from the US even harder. I don’t that even the bootlickers in Europe would stand by America after something like that. The Gulf States definitely wouldn’t since they’re right on the border and would be facing the immediate consequences of something as reckless as going full MacArthur. Even domestically I don’t see the average Trump supporter backing something like that. The capitalists especially wouldn’t benefit from it since the whole reason they’re trying to bring Iran down is to take control of their oil in the first place and they can’t sell oil if it’s all irradiated and the people supposed to be processing/exporting it are sick with rad poisoning.

The only way I see America using nukes is if it feels like the whole project is coming to an end and setting them off as a last-ditch effort to destroy its enemies. Even then it’s debatable whether or not troops will follow that order since there’s a lot of heads involved in the whole process of just authorizing a strike, never mind physically launching it. Hell, given the state of our military I wouldn’t even be surprised if most of our arsenal wasn’t even functional.
