one of my favourite series. Happy Sega was able to get the license back for the music cause the last PC Port didn’t have it.

this is pretty par the course for Japanese companies. I’m not excusing it, i’m just saying Japanese companies will go all out with this kind of stuff. also look at Nintendo. They’ll sue people to bejesus and back on a routine basis.

huh…a Souls Like Gundam? that’s what it looked like to me. Also interesting to see Gundam vs what appear to be monsters and not mobile suits.

good on Kinew but also keep in mind he also wants to slap age verification/id checks on stuff so…

remember kids GIGO “Garbage In, Garbage Out”.
the general public just isn’t aware of this. they assume that anything and everything an LLM spits out is fact. Again, the LLM/AI MUST provide a solution. any solution. that solution doesn’t need to be correct or even exist but in order to retain users it will and will consistently and constantly provide a hallucinated solution.
And in most cases, without their knowledge, the user is also to blame. I can see a lawyer asking an LLM “are there any cases where such and such happened” trying to find something INCREDIBLY specific to what they need and the LLM 8 times out of 10 will say “yes! there is!” and hallucinate a case that the lawyer needs. You see it all the time if you ask Claude with assistance in trouble shooting a specific tech or code problem. “I’m having issues with this and this, can this library or app or program solve this for me?” “Yes! here’s how” and then will tell you something the library or program or whatever can’t even do but you’ve lead it to that direction and it MUST provide a positive retention-able solution.
Even using AI as it SHOULD be used is no longer good. just using it as a sort of rubber duck doesn’t help anymore because of GIGO. the training data, across ALL LLMs, is so tainted now you might as well take all the money we’re wasting on data centers and tokens and just toss it at the crazy dude outside the bus station and just ask them the same questions.

sure there are games for retired people. EVE Online. pretty much everyone who plays that are either middle aged or retired.
that’s a big IF. few weeks ago I had to teach a junior dev how divs worked, he had no idea. he even initially asked an LLM how they worked and the LLM hallucinated half the responses.

that’s for someone else to worry about.
Seriously if you talk to these people they live their lives financial quarter by quarter. there’s no plan for 2+ years down the line, they can’t think that far ahead. They’re all like this. It’s all about the now. make money now, release a product now, no future, no updates, now now now. This is why LLM’s appeal so much to them, it can provide that “now” that they crave.

the clickbait so god damn annoying now. it’s like yesterday when there was an article that PewDiePie made an AI to rival ChatGPT and it’s free. no. he vibe coded an LLM workspace. that’s it.
Or the Nostalgia bait articles “the Zip Drive was amazing!” no, no it wasn’t you weren’t there.

safety concerns…like the safety concern of not selling enough Coca Cola products, got it.
well if you want to get SUPER specific you had to be taught how to be a force ghost by Qui Gon directly. he first taught Yoda, then eventually Obi-Wan, and I don’t know how the fuck/when he taught Anakin. post death I guess? picked it up in like an hour or so? and then I guess all 4 of them taught Luke and Leia at some point.
*except banks and corporate landlords. In Toronto it’s all over oxford, brookfield, and CF properties as well as banks. that’s it. Scotiabank Arena had their sign set to pride colours…yesterday. Today it was back to red.

it’s not really an “answer” to chatgpt or other LLMs at all. it’s a workspace. you still have to plug your own AI into it be it locally hosted or subscription based.
It’s like saying “PewDiePie has made a FREE Engine Mount that looks to be an answer to Honda’s Civic Engine” that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

I just don’t think people are buying RAM/other PC parts period. new or used.
I’ve have a listing selling a couple year old sticks of 16gb (32gb total) of DDR4 ram for $120 for like 4 weeks now and not a peep from anyone. I’ve seen other listings for ram at similar price points that have also been up for weeks.
So i’m not sure if there’s an actual shortage or people just simply aren’t buying.

as a Canadian: “Oh no!..anyways…”
yeah, these “threats” aren’t very threatening anymore. we just don’t really care.
i’m not in anything specific but like ##anime on libera.chat. i’m sure there are active ones for specific stuff on there.
I just use libera chat and quakenet. been on quakenet for like nearly 30 years. I just go into the various linux/distro channels, web dev ones, and some other random channels.
oh it’s great isn’t it? you ask it for help on some code, provides its solution, you try it and it doesn’t work so you respond with the error, it claims YOU wrote it wrong and then when yo utell it “I just copy and pasted what you provided” it says “you’re right, i’m sorry.”
Claude is to the point now where it just starts hallucinating on the first prompt. it’s 100% unreliable now when before it was like 90%. no point in using it, it’s garbage. and Claude Code is just as bad now. If you or anyone is using Claude Code to develop ANYTHING I would highly suggest you stop right now because I can guarantee you with nearly 100% certainty that whatever shit it’s writing into your stuff isn’t going to work. period.
