I use retrolemmy.com on a browser on a mobile. Though, I’ve used some of front-ends for mobile such as Jerboa, Thunder, Eternity, etc. but I encountered network issues so I switched back to using browser.

i use a 7 year old phone and it doesnt receive any new update since 2020, is it a good thing?

have you tried Waterfox? it is much lighter and based on Firefox. I use this on my 4GB RAM laptop and it worked fine

try Waterfox, it is great for browsing the modern web on a low ram

if it didn’t work, i guess you have to sacrifice some usability by using Falkon or any much lighter browsers (not much good for modern web browsing)

if it has camera and does show time, calendar, txt files and image files through sd card, without internet connectivity, that would be enough for me
