Pride celebrations struggle as corporate sponsorships dry up
Trump’s anti-DEI initiatives have been successful in changing boardroom behavior across the country.
Seems they were never really on anyone’s side to begin with.

I mean, the Libs are doing everything I’d expect from Stephen Harper’s Bank of Canada guy and the Tory’s Bank of England guy.
Not being able to tell if the Libs or Cons are in charge just feels like more evidence of how far we’ve ratcheted to the right.
Don’t forget Finland in 2023 and Sweden in 2024.

Did they forget to pay the CIA their cut?

Over $3M, according to Track AIPAC.
It seems to be, at least partially, a generational thing.
I grew up in rural, conservative-town USA and am old enough to remember when “partner” was code for same-sex spouse that I’m not legally allowed to marry.
Whereas if you were in a state where you were allowed to marry your same-sex spouse, then they’d be your husband/wife.
Hearing it now, regardless of orientation, just sounds deliberately vague to some of us oldheads.

Literally had this conversation a month ago with a parent. Apparently the Cold War is very much alive.

They’ve been killing Palestinian and Lebanese Christians too. The idol is just more important to them than the Christians with the wrong complexion.

Number two, what is this right to exist? Where does it come from? Because states don’t have a right to exist. No such natural or legal right exists. People, individuals have a right to exist. Human beings have that right. Not states, not countries. States change their composition, their governing structures, their ideologies, their regimes, their borders all the time. They’re not fixed for eternity.
I think this is the strongest argument when faced with this question. While I already agree with the premise that people have inherent, inalienable rights and nation states do not, I find that others will argue that their nation state also has the “right to exist”. And that’s when the examples come in handy:
In each case, most people would say no, those nation states did not have the right to exist, not in those forms.

The SSD charts are also “fun”.

Well he was Austrian, not super surprising he felt that way about it.

Israel might have just committed the single most self-defeating act of this disastrous war so far.
Not if your goal is a failed state, like in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria.

GET READY FOR OPERATION RAGING HARD-ON, coming to a Korea near you!

It would literally be a proportionate response.
Looking good
Technical recession = recession
If Q1 gets revised up from -0.1% then it wasn’t a recession, by definition, but could also be revised even further down. The economists really missed the mark on their predictions, so who knows what to expect now.
