You’re not wrong. But on the other hand, do we really need a browser API for measuring a user’s SSD usage?

developpers might look at making games playable on less powerful hardware
Yes, please let this lead to devs focusing on efficiency again. I don’t need real time physics simulations and “lifelike” facial animations that still haven’t found a way out of the uncanny valley after like two decades.
I want snappy load times, download and install sizes in the tens of gigabytes, not hundreds, consistent frame rates even when there’s a lot going on on the screen. I have more VRAM than God, yet I still get stuttering in some games on high graphics settings. It’s pathetic.
A lot of parts of Lemmy have a sexism problem
There’s layers to the meme. It’s also about how junior engineers are often overworked and underpaid.

Because plastic is a byproduct of oil production.
I learned this from playing Satisfactory. I mean, I probably actually learned it in school at some point, but Satisfactory really drove it home. One of the first things you learn after unlocking oil is how to process all the excess oil by-product into plastic… And then straight into the shredder for those sweet sweet Ficsit coupons

I don’t think there’s necessarily anything inherently wrong with that statement. A police force acting in the interests of the citizenry to protect and serve them should take any threat seriously. Where things fall apart though is trying to claim that sending multiple vehicles full of heavily armed SWAT agents to someone’s house based on a single prank call is the same as “taking the threat serious”.
To be fair, Elon never specified exactly what he meant by the word “briefly” and the phrase “serve as a boat”
Oh wait, yes he did

He was the party chairman for a single county, I doubt that’s any sort of elected position. I think progressives should take a page out of his book though, and get more young people involved and into leadership positions in the Democratic party, in order to push things to the left.

Are you one of those “food is medicine” people

You decided to rage at my completely innocuous comment an entire day after I posted it, I’m not the one trying to flex here. Why are you so mad

My comment has 7 upvotes actually 💪😤
You’re bad at hyperbole dude

I do the work of three people for the salary of 3/4 of a person
Know your worth and be willing to walk away.
He’s great at playing muscle headed idiots though

Average feature film length has been 120 minutes since the 2000’s, and it’s been trending upwards since then. Even if the movie is only 90 minutes though, you’re still gonna be in the theater for at least two hours anyways, between standing in line for popcorn/snacks/drinks and sitting through previews. And if you’re gonna follow up with a drink or food anyways, you could just… skip the movie lol
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to police people’s first dates, and if both parties want to go see a movie and get a drink after, great. In today’s dating ecosystem though, for the majority of people, the prospect of sitting in a dark room with a near stranger for 90-120 minutes is uncomfortable, and usually not a very good first date idea.

I live in a large Midwestern city and those prices are what I’d find in the trendy downtown spots, not a middle of the road sit-down restaurant

So the first date is like a 3 to 4 hour affair minimum? Coffee can be as short as an hour, and I can dip after 15 if it’s not going well. Much more time efficient

A regular restaurant where? Those prices (especially the cocktails) are what I’d see at a higher end place, but I’m in the Midwest

I’m taking about 2015.
It was a joke when Jeb said “Please clap”, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was also sad and pathetic
