I have no idea how everyone seems to have missed this.

      Humans eat sheep.

In future humans find sheep people.

Sheep people think they’re going to eat them.

      Like…

So that is supposed to be a sheep? Thought it was like a hairy monkey.

And if it is supposed to be the future, why are they wearing modern armor?

        Mmh… I guess?

Some countries have military units with goat mascots, not for food but for morale, so, not really straightforward to me, honestly

This joke is a fighter jet; it went over my head at breakneck speed.

Is this a pop culture reference?

Is it because they’re showing their teeth and that’s a threatening gesture among predators? Is it because they are particular characters from some other media? Is it because the camera flash turned their eyes red and that’s scary?

All of it. I’m guessing the joke is that this alien is sheep based and all the signs you described would put us humans in the “scary predator aliens” category.

The teeth thing makes lots of sense especially if you’ve read the Cytoverse series. In it, there’s an alien race that sees the showing of teeth as a sign of aggression or a sign of fear.
