[a grinning man in an expensive suit, wearing a top hat and a monocle, is speaking]
Salutations, I am Baron Von Profit, welcome to my show “The Line”
Today, we’ll learn about stock market basics and how charts affect your life

[a bright green line goes up on a chart]
Record profits!
Congratulations, your boss is getting richer!
This means nothing to you though, you get nothing out of it

[an orange pulse stagnates on a chart]
Ew, business is stagnating
This is not good
Let’s fire some people to get shareholders more excited, bye bye!

[a downwards red line crashes with a chart]
Oh no, we’re crashing!
Well, looks like you’re getting laid off
Sucks to be you

[the same green line as before goes up on a chart]
Lines are green! The good times are back!
Sounds like a perfect time to fire more people, to the chopping block!
Cheers to that, 10 million bonus package for the CEO

Who came up with hands? Why can’t we have claws or hooves instead that would be so much simpler 😩

The company I work for got bought up two years ago. We wouldn’t have existed today, if it wasn’t for the buy out. Ever since it’s been downhill though. I’ve lost most joy in my work and am looking for other employment. Customers seem to have lost it too, becuase they are become sparser every month. There’s barely any competent staff left and still management tells us the line isn’t green enough for any necessary investments.

I feel a bit sad about it, because I’ve put a lot of effort and creativity into making good products. At least I learned a lot of valuable, transferrable skills in my time there.
