They just simply weren’t prepared to spend money on an independent and found a way to stop it. It’s a shame, he’d have made a good president and I don’t think Trump would have beaten him. We’d be looking at a different history and world by now.

He was an independent though. That means not even party attachment.
But he ran for the democratic nomination. That distinction really doesn’t make any difference in this case. They successfully stopped him twice.
It would internally to them and it did in the end. They just simply weren’t prepared to spend money on an independent and found a way to stop it.
It’s a shame, he’d have made a good president and I don’t think Trump would have beaten him. We’d be looking at a different history and world by now.
