Or you could just, not buy a brand new iphone 17 and instead get a refurbed phone from a few years ago. Then it would already be slow and you wouldnt be donating a grand to Apple.

The problem then becomes software support. Especially since Apple aggressively deprecates older versions.

        ?
The iPhone 8 still gets security patches.
The 11 and 12 will still get another Major OS version.
There are many criticisms to be made about Apple’s Software practices, but that you need to buy the latest gen to get long software support is not one of them.

It doesn’t matter if you get security patches or not when the apps aren’t allowed to support the OS version.

We shouldn’t criticize them for planned obsolescence? LOL that’s some brainwashed shit.

The newest iOS is compatible with a phone they released 7 years ago. With android you’re lucky to get OS updates at all once they stop manufacturing the phone. I’m sure you’re trying to make a point, but Apple supports their devices better than most.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. I’m sure you’re trying to make a point, but other Android OEMs also being shitty does not excuse Apple’s shittiness.

At least on Android, developers have the choice to support older OS versions, this is not supported in iOS.
