“The world is on fire, but we are not going to do anything about it!”
“Why have younger generations mentally checked out?”
The Democrats position makes no sense if you think of them as an independent party trying to win vs the Republicans, but makes perfect sense if you think of them of the branch of the US political establishment meant to suppress leftist organization:
But there’s no hard evidence that discussing climate change hurts Democrats in elections, Mildenberger and other experts told Grist. If anything, it rewards candidates with a modest boost among voters, studies and surveys show.
Get big money out of politics and you’ll get climate change as an issue with potential.
Power and money go hand in hand
Here we are bickering about AIPAC buying our politicians but its more of a time share with big oil, big ag, and wallstreet.
it’s all of those things and many more big money interests.
There’s some competition, but regulatory capture is de facto.
It’s exacerbated whenever conservatives control the legislature and executive, and obviously wildly out of control now that the supreme court is partisan from F society’s scheming in lockstep with the rest. I don’t understand how attempting to undermine and overthrow the constitution does not have any consequences when done so openly, but here we are.
Unless something catastrophic happens with the climate, the economy will always be the top issue because people have to eat. Presently, immigration, the war with Iran, danger to democracy, and climate change will be next in that order.
Let’s talk again in December

True, but the main subject should be the economy not climate change. Climate change would be a subtopic. For example, a candidate might say that switching to renewable energy will create jobs.
“Februrary”?
Really? That’s your takeaway?
Doesn’t help the credibility of the data.
Once again.
Dems to strategists 6 months ago: ONLY TALK ABOUT THE ECONOMY
I actually agree at this juncture.
Now: “Democrats aren’t talking about anything other than the economy”
Well, yeah, that’s the point tho. For once they’re actually on message.
More neoliberal news telling democrats to suck and be worthless to appeal to the mythical swing voters.
When people understand that the Democrats are not our friends and take the same corporate PAC money as the Republicans, we might start seeing change in this country.
So what are you if neither party is representing you.
Disenfranchised.
I feel like what we need for people to understand this is for non-politicians to start running for election.
I don’t know how that gets fixed when everyone who understands what’s happening is being crushed by what’s happening.
