Exclusive: poll across 15 countries finds ‘deep mistrust’, with majority doubting US would come to their aid in an attack

European confidence in an American “security guarantee” has hit a historic low, a survey suggests, with only one in 10 people across 15 countries seeing the US as an ally and majorities in all doubting it would come to their aid if they were attacked.

The survey, published on Wednesday by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) thinktank before critical G7 and Nato summits in France and Turkey over the coming weeks, revealed “deep European distrust in the US”, the authors said.

It also showed that, while many Europeans felt relations with Washington would improve once Donald Trump leaves office, they were increasingly ready in the meantime to protect themselves against US unreliability by bolstering Europe’s defence.

As an American: fair. We have been proving to be quite the assholes (understatement) lately.

I hope that someday we can gain that trust back but that won’t be for quite sometime and only if we can make a major turn for the better.

Era of great American media seems to have ended. So few good movies or shows anymore. Just one cop drama show after another and 5 star out of 10 rated movies. Even reddit sucks. Used to train AI and run by a zionist war crimes cheerleader.

majorities in all doubting it would come to their aid if they were attacked.

I do believe (maybe naively) if Europe was attacked, that the US would help, probably wouldn’t need them, but it would be more to their advantage to help, than if they didn’t. But I don’t trust the US in terms of keeping their “house” in order. The big companies that are around the world heavily lobbying, breaking laws and encouraging blatant corruption, came from there and now the rest of the world have to deal with them. They also voted Trump in.

But the bozo we have in charge here is entirely transactional. So if Europe were attacked, the US might send help, but might send all out troops back via Greenland, then decide that it’s only fair for “Europe” to hand it over in exchange.

Thats probably a lower rate than current European support for… hitler. or putin.

Someone in the previous comments said Amerrica is a cancer, but I bet we probably still have higher polling rate than actual cancer. …Probably.
