I’d quite like my next bike to be electric
I have a 2008 BMW R1200R, and she’s unlikely to die because those things are bulletproof
But, someday if finances permit, I’ll switch to electric
Have a look at Verge motorcycles if you are interested

Nah,
You’re making shit up
Again

I wanted a used one, but I had to buy new
There are no second-hand models of my car for sale
People buy them, and then they keep them!
There wasn’t a single one available second-hand in my state, and the backorders meant that had to wait three months for it to be built and shipped

I’m extremely attached to my motorbike
It’s different to a car, because a bike becomes an extension of your body, you have to be in harmony with the machine
Cars are just cars

I don’t have any of that with my EV, certainly no subscription stuff, nor overcharging for service, because a service is significantly easier
Not to any degree different from in ICE vehicle
You’re just spouting shit

You’re right, but they’ll hate you for it
Too many of the “good” Americans have still bought into the system
They celebrate selfishness, fetishise “the grind”, are materialistic and superficial
Not to mention their perverse ideas of what actually constitutes freedom…

Is your usual source for things pulling them out of your arse?

They’ve slipped a bit since voting in Luxon and his merry band of cunts, but it’s still not bad

Australia and New Zealand are pretty great

All I do on reddit is post my “performance art”, have fun menacing dorks and on extremely rare occasions offer helpful advice
If I’m providing usable data, then either their algorithm has failed miserably, or I have

I guarantee that you can’t do shit with an internal combustion vehicle either, but you like to make noise

Yeah, but fortunately there’s a whole world outside of 'Murica where we drive normal EVs because we’re not trying to compensate for our inadequacies

It’s almost as though it’s a backwards country, full of stupid people or something

Well, that’s an impressively stupid thing to say

That’s not what I said
Again, I think the cops fucked it
But you aren’t listening, and I don’t care

I served in the ambulance service
Unlike what movies portray, it’s actually possible to sustain a penetrating wound to the heart, particularly the pericardium, that will take time to be fatal
A patient can be standing there, talking to you, with a small red spot on their shirt
I’m not defending the cops, but it’s not as simple as people think
They do have that in Australia
But of course, they rely on people thinking “yeah, but that won’t happen to me because I’m somehow different”
They’re obviously the dumbest

I was a certified CPR instructor
Just kill the kids, and anyone else
If you are doing CPR, it’s because they have already lost a critical component of life
Do your best, because they’re already dead and there’s nothing to lose

And your personality is the best thing you have to ensure nobody fuck you and gives you anything communicable
Their hub motor actually doesn’t surprise me
Efficiency wise, it’s less than a conventional motor, but that doesn’t actually matter. If the crap from the road can be kept from grinding it away without washing after every ride, it’s going to be as good as a chain (I hate chains, I know shafts are heavier and nominally less efficient, but they’re nice)
The battery stuff is really interesting though
I see fake videos about BYD batteries etc. but criticism of the Donut Lab stuff has been conspicuously quiet
The ramifications of SSBs would be truly revolutionary on a global scale, and will change more things than people can imagine
So, while I have reservations, I have a huge amount of hope too
