Planted by whom? The democrat establishment that dragged their feet on giving him any support whatsoever? The republicans who were urging their own candidate to drop out in order to give Cuomo an edge? High roller donors who were desperately trying to prop Cuomo up? Seems like the entire establishment across the political spectrum was against Mamdami. The wealthy and powerful clearly did not want him in office, I don’t think there was some 5D chess gambit behind their opposition.
We must have watched different mayorital races. Cuomo very much phoned in the whole run and was showing up just to show up. He also netted less donations than both Mamdani and his previous mayor run (~$40 mill difference [2018], which may as well be $40 dollars). Since then Mamdani has very much gotten the Obama treatment. I very much suspect he’s going to run for President in my lifetime and win. I also very much think he’s a manchurian candidate.
I don’t think he would be a bad president by any means - I’d vote for him, like I don’t think he’s going to turn heel and we all find out he’s republican or anything, I think it’s just part of balancing the status quo being upkept in American Politics.

He’s six months in and like ⅔ of the way through his campaign promises. And that’s with standing against ICE and dealing with both an extreme winter and and extreme summer. He defeated multiple establishment-backed candidates. And he’s managed to do this all without any major scandal.
Plus, if this is a psyop by the right, it’s absolutely backfiring. Mamdani is showing the electorate how a government can work for its people. That’s good for people, but terrible for the establishment.
I realize where the cynicism comes from, but “just don’t change” is always true right up until it isn’t.

Nope, it’s all opinion based on his interactions between high level individuals. Last time I posted my opinion on it the moderators here removed it as conspiracy theories - which is valid, as they are that.
