As does the increasing connectivity of everything, combined with a lack of any security protocols, and the complete lack of any responsibility for the failure to implement them, the consequences of their insecurity, or OEMs decision to change the ToS after the sale.
And the lack of privacy protocols around everything. It’s a data broker’s wet dream.
And yes being able to change the TOS after you have purchased something should be criminal to the point of theft since they are essentially stealing functionality and value from a product.
