Glad to help!

In general, I maintain revolutionary optimism. It doesn’t work like a magic pill, I get upset and angry sometimes, but understanding the general progressive arc of history we are on helps keep me grounded.

Do they not? They are navigating a frail position where the US Empire can come in again at any moment. If they pretended nothing happened whatsoever then the US Empire would still be exerting the same brutal pressure they were exerting at the peak.

What makes you think Venezuela has the same capacity to respond militarily as Iran, right next to the empire itself? What makes you think Iran would not have preferred a diplomatic solution that would avoid having hundreds of schoolgirls murdered in an instant? Sometimes, tactical retreats are the only way to gain strategic victories. The government of Venezuela is intact, and while their hands are now more tied, they continue to exist and the legacy of the Bolivarian revolution remains. Any revolt at this moment would greatly risk having the US-backed opposition taking power, not the proletariat.

Despair is typical of those who do not understand the causes of evil, see no way out, and are incapable of struggle.

Of course! I just wanted to add an addendum from a Statesian perspective, as that’s a problem many orgs run into here.

Just adding on to the red lines, any ML org in the US Empire in particular needs a solid and principled analysis of settler-colonialism and decolonization. This is an additional hurdle to socialist organizing in the settler-colonies that can often give rise to patsocs if not addressed.

Marx and Engels especially tied dialectics to science. See Dialectics of Nature.

Dialectical methodology was used by Marx to analyze classical economics, Engels noted evolution as dialectics at work, and psychology can be analyzed dialectically. I am unfamiliar with what you mean by “critical realism” and “complexity science,” but I don’t see why they surpass dialectics. What do you believe dialectics to be, and why do you think these areas are better without dialectics?

Glad to hear it!

Welcome comrade, and thanks for the recommendations! I hope you have a good time here, it’s always nice to see newly active people! You’ll probably find that Grad is quite comfy.

I really do think Lemmygrad is one of the kindest and most relaxed spaces in social media.

I love them too! The second to last shows incredible heroism from women, the last shows how humanity is a part of nature and must be an active participant in nature, protecting it while using it to provide for us all, rather than seeing us as outside of nature.

I like these!

I said it already, but I’ll say it again: you’re incredibly strong. Strength from within, expressed without. It’s people like you that give me hope for younger generations. This world is a cruel one, but we will make it so that what you’ve experienced will never happen again, and that Palestine will forever be free. A better world is ours to build, it isn’t a dream, but something concrete that only purposive action can bring about, actions like your own.

I just read your previous post, comrade. You’re far stronger than you give yourself credit for, and that strength will help you get through this. Know that each and every one of us here thinks that you’re an amazing person that gives us hope for the next generation. Your strength will carry you through this conflict, and every conflict you face in the future.

Yep! The biggest instances that can see us are Lemmy.ml and Hexbear.net, though I believe Lemmy.zip can as well.
WPK symbol is cool, I also like The DDR’s!
