You can get background play via using FireFox, video downloading with extensions or other programs, and play anything on hotel TVs with a video cable from a laptop or any other device. All without paying the great beast.

Even converting them to raw calories, potatoes are pretty great. A whole-ass baked potato (without toppings) is less than a lot of kinds of normal candy bars, and way, way more filling. The trick is to not drown it in butter, cheese, and sour cream if you want a healthy meal.

Eh… IMO there’s a big difference between disagreeing about something reasonable, and disagreeing about the most basic tenets of what makes a community a community.

Too bad AMD is sitting on their ass, especially with GPUs. They should’ve pushed hard and got zen 5 out to compete with Intel’s latest. Intel is still doing the e-core plus performance cores, but their latest models are actually extremely competitive with zen 4, even on price.

So long as Intel has fixed their reliability issues, AMD really fucked themselves by not driving the swing in their favor home.

The same way most soldiers have better training and trigger discipline than cops. They know far better when their life is actually in danger, and are actually trained to stay cool under pressure. Cops are trained to be big babies that must get their way or else.

I doubt it would be immediately crippling to the military, and I’m sure they’d be very interested in making whoever did it regret that decision. So, it would undoubtedly be a terrible idea for anyone that couldn’t take a severe counter-attack and likely open war.

The US also does produce oil and gas, so I sincerely doubt it’d slow the military down too much if they were hellbent on returning the favor even in the long run. Even if it wreaked havoc on the economy, an irresponsible leader more interested in having a slapfight than a functional economy would surely instruct the military to do so.

As long as it’s not illegal content like csam, they should allow it. Why not let the racist shitheads out themselves? It’s not like valve would be forcing anyone to buy them, and don’t need to promote it.

Besides, when you get into the area of banning simply “distasteful” content, then you get people asking to whitewash everything, including history. I don’t want a historically accurate game to get censored. I don’t want content to be arbitrarily censored by lawyers and credit card companies, or any dumbass individuals’ sensitivities, for that matter.

I’m not asking for Steam to have to allow such content, either. If there’s a game that’s just celebrating being vile trash, I’m also fine with Steam telling them to fuck off the platform.

The question of free will doesn’t even need to exist. What’s the point? We already know different people act differently. Whether they’re just post-hoc justifying things, or deciding things differently, doesn’t really matter when the behavior will be different either way.

Especially at a further removed point like what corporations want. They want people to hand them money, regardless of the reason. They’re already dealing with more people than individuality will ever matter, so the question is completely moot.

Yes, they want people to be easily controlled and mentally corralled into specific behaviors … so they can exploit people more efficiently. That’s it. They’ll try to do it regardless of free will. In any case, humans are quite a complex system, so it takes a great deal of time and subliminal training to get people to behave the same.

That’s basically culture. Hence why the US has such a fucked, dumb culture; capitalists have been driving it for generations. That’d happen with or without free will when they’re allowed to run rampant as they have.
