We should tax wealth not work. But that’s not socialism. Socialism is workers owning the means of production.

Then in a socialist system you would have the opportunity to join an in-demand field.

Day caregivers should own and operate daycares. Nursing aids (and nurses and support staff) should own and operate nursing homes.
Auto shops should be owned by mechanics. Grocery stores should be run by grocers.
Workplaces should be owned by the people that work in them. Worker owned co-ops.

It makes perfect sense for them. It doesn’t make sense that the rest of us don’t beat them until they change their ways.

State wide elections go first, and you get a situation like Georgia where the at large elections can go either way but the state legislature and congressional delegation are still gerrymandered to hell for Republicans.
Then you get a tipping point like Virginia when the state legislature goes blue and then it’s a blue state, and you can finally work to get some problems resolved.

San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the country, (soon to be the sixth) we have surpassed Philadelphia.
But it has only 1/3rd the density of LA. Famously car centric hellscape LA is 3(?!) times as dense as San Antonio.
I think physical proximity is part of what drives people in cities to vote more democratic. Texas Metro areas so so spread out they don’t generate the same voting trends.
The winds of change are blowing. The cities continue to grow and the rural counties populations in West Texas are shrinking, but it will take a very long time for the weight of urbanization to take hold in Texas politics the way it has in Georgia and Virginia.

The only good thing about his first term was he didn’t start new wars and he did, obliquely, end the war in Afghanistan with his petty checkmate Biden penultimate act in office.
Americans should have known he was a lying liar who lies but that part was true at the time.

Last time it took over half a million dead, including a president, and several constitutional amendments.
Slow decline into poverty, corruption, and insanity is more likely this time imo.

The checks said that actually the only check is the American people. They re elected him so there is nothing anyone else can do.
Or Elon stole it. Maybe someday will will know for sure.

This could also extend to killing men that you think are about to murder a woman.
Any man could be about to murder a woman they think is pregnant, and anyone has the right to protect their life or another’s.
This is just legalizing murder, full stop.
They wouldn’t interpret it that way, but a plain reading of the text supports it.

Peter Theil is not a Democrat.

Yep, the idea that Americans thought Carter was a terrible president bad had me embarrassed since I was in high school.

They are just doing the bare minimum in order to create the illusion that there is a second option.
They aren’t that smart.
Both completelly hate your guts, and want to see the poor killed off.
They have lots of desires, because they are hundreds and thousands of individuals. They aren’t that united.
Now, voting democrat shows them that there is some resistance, so they back off for a while.
They have a theory of what Americans want, and they only pass what the stupidest, greediest member of their legislative body thinks. That’s why it seems malicious. To get good things to happen, you need to move the floor of the elected party.
Threatening violence can help with that, like the black panthers. Or Blair mountain. But that way lies great personal risk.

That would be a good way for them to actually prompt a new political party.

Yeah and if wishes were fishes there would be no room in the ocean for water.

Please explain how “both sides are the same” =/= “whatabought the other team”
There is almost never a third option.
One side can be shamed, and sometimes even does a good thing. The other side… 99.9% turbo evil.
Guillotines will not make life better. North Korea ended up with work camps and famine. China ended up with work camps and famine. The Soviet Union ended up with gulags and famine. See the trend?
Even France, the OG, Ended up with the Terror, then Napoleon, and they were so traumatized they went back to monarchy.
Calls for Guillotines are calls for mass death and usually secret police and famine. Nobody can ensure that the “right” people will suffer the violence and you definitely can’t promise that only the guilty will suffer from the secret police and starvation.
If you think the status quo is as bad or worse than the terror I welcome you to kick it off. There are plenty of other Mario characters we can name you after.

I remember reading his malais speech and thinking that the American people were a bunch of babies for trashing him over it.

Carter was also the last president to treat the American people like adults.
I do not. AI prefer quiet for sleep.
The sound of rain is nice though to go to sleep.
Child care and elder care seem to be in demand.
