Corporation doubles down and uses “nuh uh you’re harassing us” to come after the YouTuber, including sending the local police after them with some seedy connections (“hey cops help me out we go to the same church and I think this guy stinks”)

It blows up on the Internet and even more information comes out that they definitely had the legos, and they either deliberately lied, or were too incompetent/uncaring to actually look for the legos.

Now it’s been blowing up in their face because the company basically had a “nuh uh” countered with a “well then explain this” x10 and they look like assholes for trying to shut the whole thing down when they could’ve just gone “oh yep, we made a mistake, here’s your Legos back, our bad”.

But it’s too late for that now, and they’re in big trouble for it.

It’s literally the adult-corporate version of the childhood “I wouldn’t have been that mad if you told the truth, but you lied and cheated. Now you’re in serious trouble.”

The others have explained what it means so I’ll explain the comic. The person upset is thinking “he must be thinking of other women” and the joke being “maybe he is, but he’s still in bed with you, so probably not.” so either they’re right, and you ditch that person, or you’re wrong, and trust that they do love you.

It’s like the old joke some men have “she’s great, I love her, it’s been 30 years, I just know she’s gonna leave me any day now”. Like no, goofus, she loves you warts and all, that’s why youve been together 30 years.

Every time Ive been under it’s been like a nap for me. Like for my wisdom teeth it was like “oh yeah gotta take my earrings out” then when I woke up it was “oh gotta put my earrings in, why’s it so dark, oh open my eyes, right. How’d it go?”

So these Flock cameras ARE being used to falsely arrest people based on incorrect “evidence” and NOT being used to verify people were at a different location to prevent them from being arrested UNTIL the court forces them to.

Sounds to me like the problem is still the police NOT doing their jobs, and these cameras ARE just an excuse for surveillance. Just like we expected.

It’s the problem with how companies operate. As a whole we should be working towards utopia. But there’s no desire to pay into social programs, only to extract money from other (usually non-billionaire) people, and avoid paying them so that extracted money stays in their hands. It’s the “No Take, Only Throw” dog meme but “No wages, only spend.”

I don’t know how, but I bet there’s an enterprising way to make a nice cheap battery powered Bluetooth scrambler that can be stuck right on one of those poles with a magnet and just absolutely ruin their signals.

People also forget, at the time for a lot of kids, it was basically 4Kids or nothing for mainstream Anime. We didn’t have a ton of dubs available so we were just happy we got one. If you want to see how some of the more “indie” dubs went, look up “ghost stories”. Its hilariously, but awful in regards to the original story.

So 4kids and DiC did their whole “sanitizing” of a lot of shows, it was the best a lot of people got at the time.

Hey now it wasn’t on us (the people watching) this was at a time in the US where everything was about “protecting the kids”. 4kids whole marketing scheme was “it’s safe” so of course they edited it out. People weren’t complaining, they were proactively censoring to get corporations and networks online.

Adult Swim, which was cartoon networks “late night” channel had plenty of death and much better English dubs. But they wanted to market stuff to kids, only way to do that is to show it during the day. You can’t sell trading cards to children if their parents see someone’s legs getting chopped off (look at yugioh, one of the battles had actual buzz saws that would cut off the losers feet).

Well not only “big = more expensive” the larger engines also have lower efficiency requirements. It’s much easier to make cars bigger and more “chugging” because they don’t have to meet the efficiency standards and because it’s bigger they can charge more.

Yeah but the investor visas involve investment and growth in the country, not just a million dollar “donation” to the government. It feels less like “improve the country and you will be welcome” and more “be rich and we will let you in the boys club”

The worst part is, other countries have done this, we just did it in the worst way possible.

There are several countries where if you invest enough in the economy through trade and businesses you can actually get a visa. But you have to actually invest in the economy not just throw a million dollars at some orange dickhead.

Oh for sure. The Nintendo “stamp of quality” has definitely lost its shimmer. Now they’re just on the “where else are you gonna get Mario/Pokemon” train and they’re running it on us.
