    dude, moving is hell. literally it’s one of the most stressful things humans do. I fucking hate moving. The last thing you need is some karen screaming about a temporary blocked patch of sidewalk when you’re literally unloading the truck.

    edit: I’d add - perhaps going over and saying “hey let me help you unload this trailer so we can get the truck off the sidewalk faster!” would be a much better option than damn near anything else, it’s a great way to meet and welcome your new neighbors.

    let them get established before you pick out the reasons to hate them.

    the vast majority of the people I met while serving were in it for the education and housing benefits and had no intention of making a life out of service.

    it says something about our society - you have to have a degree to get ahead (society tells us) and housing is neigh unreachable without some kind of assistance that comes at great cost.

    for the critics / anti-war types, I’d just add that the military is a microcosm of the entire society - there’s decent, kind people, and also, there’s chuds, pogues and racists, it’s a distillation of everything you get in the real world, just cooked down into a smaller body.

    yeah because genocide and slavery started in 1492?

    pfftt hahaha… you ML guys either have tapioca for brains or actively ignore history…

    wait, could it be both?

    that said, " if the natives were able to kill the colonists that “discovered” the new world" coulda been cool af. But the Aztecs kinda already had a good grasp on genocide and slavery as their empire was built on outward expansion, acquisition of their neighbors and their property, and they were really into human sacrifice.

    but yeah would be awesome to see the cortez and columbus types torn to pieces on the shores…
