Ah yes indeed, would be nice if Apple just published a table with specs normally lol.

Your numbers are slightly wrong I think, M5 pro is 307 or half M5 max. Also not sure where you fit the 460 number. But yeah still a fair bit below dgpus.

Wasn’t there some ado about them getting a native Linux client soonish? https://www.xda-developers.com/gog-has-already-started-working-on-linux-gaming-as-it-says-theyre-a-big-fan-of-the-os/
My issue is of course that I hate having two launchers but yeah gog does seem ideologically superior… for now.

Good reminder, I did buy Alan wake 2 on sale, kinda forgot I had it because it’s on epic and I never launch heroic lol. Thanks. I’ve heard Alan wake 2 is quite good but it seems like it ended up being surprisingly niche

Guess I better finish control, I started playing by got distracted by the first berserker khazan

Yeah so far I’ve been content. It’s good that forks are popping up for stuff like this though, if zed decides to go the way of Microsoft in any way it’s nice to know there are some alternatives already.

You’re only saying too powerful because of the price I’m assuming? For me if this was in a 14inch chassis, it’d meet most of my checkboxes, especially if it has half decent gaming performance. Don’t know how good fex is though.

Windows no, linux maybe. 15 inches is too big though.

Aren’t all of these features able to be disabled in zed itself? If so what does a fork offer me instead?

The blade itself is what I’m current reading (when not frantically trying to catchup on one piece)

This is the one that might break me honestly. Destroying the us internally whatever. Increasing costs around the world arbitrarily absolute bullshit but whatever, hopefully it pushes everyone to stay far away from the us so even as we’ll all suffer maybe we’ll learn something for once (us citizens). Allowing people to die globally from a truly horrific disease, in a potentially preventable way, and then sticking other countries with the problem is downright barbaric. The worst part is even if I manage to leave this place I can’t escape whatever effects come from it imploding. Didn’t think I’d watch the collapse of an empire in my lifetime but hey I guess after being basically born into 9/11, watch 08 happen as a kid, and having covid ruin everything socially going forward and then slapped with AI entering the workforce I should have expected it. I know “every generation has experienced the bad shit” but man doesn’t make it any less shit.
I wish they’d fucking approve zed at work. Stuck with the shitty excuse of vscode. Also powershell sucks ass.

I hope it gets graffitied

So I have basically a whole pc leftover, 11600k + 7700xt from upgrades over the last year or two which is why I was asking. I guess that’d be fairly more powerful. 4k felt pretty bad on it though.
Edit: I’m assuming fsr is the “4k 60” req. I wonder if that’s going to include framegen?

Do we know how this will compare to the rdna 3 stack? I’m assuming somewhere between 7700 and 7800?

I hope you are able to take some time and recover. Honestly I experienced some burnout at the end of my MS and my brain just turned to mush. I’m honestly struggling with AI as well because although I prefer writing everything myself, web searching sucks now, and it’s very compelling to have AI do stuff like scan codebases for you and write boilerplate, but it just makes me feel like shit every time I use it. At the very least though your advice makes me feel a lot less bad about going home and just chilling out after work.

Honestly this genuinely seems like it might be a good idea, do you have any recs? I dot occasionally watch the primeagen

My current use case right now is designing tiles and a set for a ttrpg campaign, so currently more the latter. As far as I’m aware though you can do some of the former it’s just that it’s not exactly the workflow you’d be used to. Precision isn’t the issue so much as having history I suppose. Just means you have to plan out your design a lot more ahead of time. I’ve tried some of the code based stuff like build123d since I’m a programmer and the like but frankly they never made much sense to me, although perhaps that’s the way it uses Python more than anything else. Admittedly I didn’t spent a whole lot of time on it though and I was pretty burned out at the time.
I really hate SQL it often feels like you have to work backwards instead of procedurally when you get anything complex going. Thank goodness I mostly work in pyspark.
Edit: Also thanks for the shout to prql looks cool might try it in a personal project or something
